’27 Receiver may move to TE in college but is leading his Trojans to another fine year

Barren County is 6-3 and enjoying quite a run under the guidance of Coach John Myers. Myers used to be the offensive coordinator for the Glasgow Scotties so he knows a thing or two about coaching in big-time, prestigious programs. Matter of fact, Myers turned in a 118–57 career record in 14-years as the head ball coach at Russellville High. We have his all-time record around 140 or so wins with a winning percentage around 70%. That is balling. Myers in ’24-’25, was the Class 6A, Region Runner-Up and tied the school win record with a 10-3 mark. Myers was named 2024 KY High Football “Coach of the Year” for that effort. He has the Trojans at 6-3 this year with a date with ACS (Allen County-Scottsville) tonight in a game where the Trojans are heavily favored to finish the regular season 7-3. Jackson Stephano is a huge part of Coach Myers’s and the team’s success. He is the Big Ass Fans feature this week. Enjoy this look at our “Kentucky Comfort Creator Feature of the Week” from our friends at Big Ass Fans.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.

The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.

This week our feature is about Jackson Stephano from Glasgow, KY’s Barren County High School. Stephano is a 6’3,” 200-pound speedy (4.7, 40) and explosive, multi-phase guy who can play anywhere from the safety to LB on defense, and Slot, TE, to WR on offense and contributes to the third phase on both coverage and return units. Stephano’s excellent training together with his undeniable talent, mobility, speed, savvy, frame, and athleticism make him an attraction hard to overlook on any roster.

Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product. Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator. These days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

Stephano is willing to do whatever his coaching staff and teammates need. He gives his talent freely for the betterment and enrichment of the team and not necessarily for himself which is a refreshing attribute to see in a young football star.

We believe Stephano may be well on his way to making an All-State football team before much longer in his playing career. We talk about him a lot around our offices and his performances are meriting the attention.

This is exactly how great high school programs, like Barren County in Glasgow, are built and maintained. The great programs are constructed from the ground up, just like great businesses, just like Big Ass Fans.

Most people associate John Myers with Russellville, and he had an enviable run there; but, he is doing much of the same at Barren County

Friday Night Fletch

Glasgow, KY: Jackson Stephano is having a tremendous year. His play and size (6’3,” 200) is meriting attention from college programs across Kentucky looking to add some usable, functional size and athleticism to its slot/TE rotation. Stephano has a lot of length and a huge catch radius.

Stephano has been putting those attributes to fine use. We have his statistics through the first seven games. The statistics we have are as follows:

Receiving Statistics (2026 Season)

StatisticValue
Games Played (GP)7
Receptions (Rec)15
Receiving Yards (Yds)346
Yards Per Game (Yds/G)49.4
Yards Per Reception (Yds/Rec)23.07
Longest Reception (Lng)74
Touchdowns (TD)4

The Trojans play its tenth game tonight. Should it go as we anticipate, Barren County will enter the first round of the playoffs (7-3) with a date with Graves County in the 5A playoffs.

We have decided to handicap the matchup with ACS tonight in Glasgow, KY. The matchup between Barren County and Allen County-Scottsville will kick off at 7:00 PM CDT.

Here is our analysis:

Game Logistics & Team Records

  • Where it will be played: Barren County High School (Trojan Field) in Glasgow, KY.
  • Barren County Trojans Record: 6–3
  • Allen County-Scottsville Patriots Record: 1–8

Handicapping the Game & Score Prediction

The Trojans match up incredibly well against a struggling Patriots team that has had a tough time moving the ball and stopping high-powered offenses this season. Barren County averages 33.8 points per game while only giving up 11.2. Conversely, ACS is giving up an average of 34.5 points per game while scoring just 4.4.

Projected Winner: Barren County Trojans

KPGFootball predicts: Barren County 42, Allen County Scottsville 7

Stephano is having a great year as are his Trojans. For the Trojans to hang around these playoffs, they will need a tremendous push from Stephano and his fellow seniors.

Having an old salty coach like John Myers won’t hurt. That is our take anyway. Then again, what do we know?
