John Myers has done a fine job building a winning program and culture at Barren County High. Of course, if you are a fan of KHSAA football, and avidly follow the sport, you know that is what you get when you hire a John Myers. Should we expect any less from a 140-career game winner and 70% winning percentage, Hall of Fame caliber coach? I didn’t think so. Players like today’s feature, Jackson Stephano, are the reason Myers finds so much of his success and he would be the first to tell you that. Stephano has length, explosion, sneaky speed, and the requisite size to continue to play in the slot or out wide or bulk up and play some TE in college. He will get the chance. There are a number of in-state college programs targeting him as we speak. Enjoy this look at our Kentucky Comfort Creator Feature of the Week from your friends at Big Ass Fans.

This usually is a pretty fun article. This is the final push before we begin playoff football. Man, this is a fun time of year. Win, and you advance. Lose, and it is basketball season. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 5-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

West Jessamine is cooking with grease and their big, impressive, offensive front has a lot to do with the 8-0 start and the 2-0 District 7 mark so far (as of October 23, 2026). There are two regular season games remaining, Madison Southern and 6A, Tates Creek (Lexington 6A) and both of them are games where West Jessamine figures to be (somewhat) heavily favored. Will the Colts pop a 10-0 heading into the playoffs? They will if their “Tank,” Simon Felker, has anything to say about it. Felker is a 6’0,” 280 pound C/G who squats nearly a quarter ton and deadlifts a cool 550-pounds. Felker is also our “Big Ass Fans,” Weekly Kentucky Comfort Creator. Enjoy the feature.

What a moment for Jayleigh Campbell. She is a ’27 PK who came over from the soccer team to lend a hand (or a foot) to the boys varsity football team. Well, Friday night, during the team’s inaugural Homecoming at the consolidated school, Campbell did something extra special. The senior placekicker became the ultimate hero of the night by kicking the game-winning, 24-yard field goal in overtime. This win was the upset of the night in KHSAA 6A football, it was highly improbable, and it gave the Tigers a chance to get the home gate in round one of the upcoming playoffs. Way to go Campbell.

Isaac Begley from Hazard High has the tools, the skills, the intangibles, the smarts #Kentuckys #fletcherwlong #LeadershipLegacy #CoachingExcellence #MentorshipMatters #characterbuilding #SportsLeadership #BuildingChampions #kentuckyfootball #highschoolfootball #DisciplineAndDedication #athletics #successmindset #bookstagram #booklovers @IsaacBegley, @hazardfbl, @KYHighFootball, @HazardAthletics, @jordanamis10, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @LasatersCoffee, @KHSAAFootball

Isaac Begley is a guy with all the intangibles. AT 6’1,” and 235-pounds he is a bit undersized to play C/DL next level though he could easily put on the necessary pounds but is perfectly suited to be a Long Snapper, something he has the ability to pull off. Perhaps most importantly, Begley is his class President in school, is a certified Next College Student Athlete (NCSA) prospect carrying a 3.8 GPA. That is a ton to love about this young man. Enjoy this look at a young guy entering his junior season for the Bulldogs, one of the Appalachia’s more formidable and storied programs.

We got our start in this business covering middle school football. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere. When our first group of prospects matriculated to high school we went with them. Why not? We still like to feature the occasional middle school prospect, through we certainly don’t cover middle school as thoroughly as we once did. Today, we are featuring a ’31 kid who plays OL/DL together with being an UA Next All-American and sporting a 3.6-GPA. His name is GARRETT PEARSON and he may be the best two-way lineman we have seen out of Bowling Green, Kentucky ever. Enjoy this look at a student who is doing things the right way. Congratulations kid…here’s your feature!
