You know we usually give this award to a player who counts among his team’s, district’s, region’s or even the Bluegrass’ very best at his position. Everyone has to start somewhere and sometimes a kid who gets five (5) games of varsity run on one of 5A’s more stacked rosters is deserving of some recognition and some world famous, all-beef jerky products. Christopher Dezern got quite a bit of play for a frosh a year ago and looks to get a ton of PT this coming season. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor out there in Pulaski County, KY.

Philpot is 6’4,” 300-pounds, can bench press 335, squat 485, and deadlift 525. Philpot pops off 40-yard dashes in 5.5-seconds and blows through a “flying 10″ in 1.68. Philpot has 11” hands, a 4.2 GPA, and a registered 26 on his ACT. Translation, Philpot is a very low risk offer if you are a college program looking to add some bulk, strength, power, and explosiveness which will wow your admissions office. April 2, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Dalton Maynard plays for one of the better programs in 5A in Kentucky. That is how a program attracts an over 250-game winner and a former TN COY recipient to its head coaching position. Maynard ain’t no slouch either. This guy played in 12-games at the 5A level as a sophomore and looks to be a multi-phase contributor, going forward into 2025. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor out there in Berea, KY.

JoaQuinn Drake from Butler Traditional is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @JoaQuinn15Drake, @_ButlerFootball, @bigassfans,

March 19, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

JoaQuinn Drake from Butler Traditional is our Mingua Beef Jerky Protein-packed Performer. He had 32-tackles, broke up 15-passing attempts, had a pair of tackles for loss, and didn’t allow a single TD in 178 pass coverage snaps. That is quite remarkable on a team which finished 2-9 and toward the bottom of the Kentucky RPI for 5A programs. Sometimes it is the guys who perform in spite of the performances around them who really astonish us. This guy here is a player colleges in the area should really study. You know, good corners are hard to find. Enjoy this feature and don’t forget to pick up some world famous jerky products from Mingua Beef Jerky and “SavorTheFlavor.”

This guy is rated as high as the number one RB in Kentucky’s ’26 class. Jay’Quan Crawford benches 230, squats 495, and power cleans 270 making him a real load to have to get to the ground. Crawford has four D-1 offers presently (EKU, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Toledo) with UK circling just outside the camp fire waiting to see what materializes over the course or his combine season before the senior year commences. Kris Hughes from Somerset High is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @krishughes2026, @BJNFBALL, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

March 5, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Kris Hughes is a “Dude.” If you are unfamiliar with that term and its meaning, you need to read our book. There is a link at the bottom of his article. Hughes scored 29-TDs in multiple phases of the game in ’24 as a junior. He picked a pair of passes, housing one for a “pick-six.” He is also the 5th leading rusher and scorer in Somerset history and we are talking about one of the more accomplished histories in the KHSAA. What will he do for an encore? He just may win ’25’s Mr. Football, that’s what. Enjoy the world’s very finest in meat jerky products and enjoy reading about this week’s Protein-packed Performer. #SavorTheFlavor

Cade Scott has everything big-time programs covet among QBs. He is tall (6’5″), well put together (200-pounds), with plenty of bounce (varsity basketball star) and a versatile skill set athletically and intellectually (4.14 GPA). Scott, like so many other Kentuckians, is a football/basketball combo guy who several D-1s are noticing, including the three (3) who have already offered. Enjoy this feature and remember to #SavorTheFlavor.

Pabst deserves his own blue ribbon for his sophomore season @Liamtoml, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @BeechwoodFB, @beechwood_tiger

February 12, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

One of our favorite songs used to proclaim loving “red necks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer.” The blue ribbon beer was a reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a famous brand of alcoholic beverage. We don’t know if the Pabst family who son is a stud ’27 football player in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky bears any type relation to the Pabst family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then again, we don’t know that they don’t. What we do know is Nathan Pabst is dad-burn good at football and he makes his team all the better when he contributes his considerable efforts. Enjoy this feature and remember to #SavorTheFlavor.
