The epic poets, Hómēros, who you probably know as “Homer,” wrote some poems in the eighth century BC. These chronicled the struggles of mortal men when antagonizing, or being antagonized by, the Gods, of whom there were pantheon. We have a story for you today about a young man in Glasgow, Kentucky who may be built simmerly to Achilles, but who is just a mortal guy learning the football craft. We wrote this article about John Carter Myers a few years ago. It was an HB Lyon piece about the son of a famous, high school football coach. John Carter was on a visit to Centre College when this was first penned. He ended up signing with Georgetown College where he is now a 6’2,” 210-pound linebacker. He gets plenty of play and makes plenty of plays. Looks like we hit the nail on the head here.
