We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Cooper Adams is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level and a tremendous wrestler on top of his being talented on the gridiron. Adams came up from middle school among the commonwealth’s most talented players and has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Adams is only going to improve over his sophomore season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities. Adams is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.

Mason Stephens from Letcher County Central tearing up the Appalachia Mountains… @MasonS3324, @ncsa, @LCCougarSports, @bigassfans, eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

We have been featuring versatility going on a few years now. It is also time to step away from the seniors graduating this semester and focus on the younger talent coming down the pipeline. Today, we focus on one of the mountain’s better ‘27s in Letcher County’s Mason Stephens. Stephens is a WR/defensive back third guy who figures to continue to play, more and more this coming season, split out wide on offense. Enjoy this feature.

Trigg County, as of the date of our writing this piece, was still in the middle of a coaching search. Its former head coach, Chris Ezell, had stepped down as the head man to take a slot on the new Christian County Tiger staff as a strength and conditioning coach and DEs specialist. We are sure Ezell is excited to be getting a ton of talent on his new, 6A, “active” roster. The cupboard at the old school, Trigg County, won’t be completely barren. Brody Calhoun is among the better linebackers in western KY football. Trigg, with the help of this week’s feature just might be a dangerous team entering the ’26 season. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Kade is a Good’un… @MLCTitanCoach, @KadeGoodin, @KYHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @PrepRedzoneKY, @Aspirationsgym, @sixstarfootball, @Elite11

Kade Goodin is a “Good’un.” Okay, that was too easy. Goodin has made several of our “Big Ass Fans'” All State FB teams in the past and has just made our preseason, “Nifty-Nichols” squad published by our good friends at Lasaters Coffee & Tea. Goodin is 6’3, 200-pounds, and the holder of five (5) Division I offers to play football in college. Goodin has consistent mechanics, delivers tight spirals, and exhibits strong accuracy across multiple route concepts. His footwork is clean, Goodin is balanced, and Goodin delivers the ball “on time.” Plus, the kid is athletic, moves well, his team’s leading rusher and has been described as having “high-upside” in the ’27 class. This kid has got it all. Enjoy the feature.

Aiden Blanton fast becoming a force with whom to reckon around the KHSAA @ABlanton03, @CentreFootball, @WJCOLTSFootball, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

March 28, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Not all of the great football players across the commonwealth of Kentucky have the greatest of frames. Aiden Blanton isn’t going to wow anyone with his stand-up size. However, this kid is all ball player and his strength/power numbers are right impressive. Blanton has plenty of speed (4.7-second, 40) and quicks (4.3-second, pro-agility shuttle) and is bouncy (34-inch vertical) to boot. We believe this kid will have a monster year upcoming similar to the hugely productive year he enjoyed in 2025. Enjoy this look at one of the better linebackers in the commonwealth of Kentucky a year ago and a player to be closely monitored in 2026.

Brandon Abren, Jr. is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @eCampusdotcom, @OfficialKYMSFA, @kcdathletics, @kcdfootball

March 27, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Brandon Abren, Jr. has announced he will play his HS football for Kentucky Country Day. It is anticipated he will likely be competing for RB-1 reps for the “Bearcats” as early as this Fall. Two former all-staters are walking the graduation stage this Spring leaving a huge hole in that backfield that a stud like Abren could fill. We take a look at the situation and garner a guess about one of the candidates. Abren has the frame, physique, and athletic ability to take a run at the job. Opportunity is knocking, will Abren answer the door? Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you out in that regard at Big Ass Fans!

Joseph Katz, 8th grade phenom on the varsity basketball roster, is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea Feature of the Week @FC_FALCONS_FB, @LasatersCoffee, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

March 24, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Joseph Katz brings something to the table programs desperately need, particularly programs competing at the 2A classification. Katz has a very versatile skill set with a variety of talents which lend itself well to playing multiple sports. Katz averaged over 6-points and 4-rebounds a game as an eighth grader playing varsity basketball at Fort Campbell High this winter. Basketball employs skills which lend naturally (and specifically) to playing football. Katz’s multi-faceted, athletic tool belt makes him more, not less, recruitable to colleges around the commonwealth. Enjoy this feature.
