We are perilously close to beginning the ’26 season in earnest. The Dead Period is days away from terminating and the end of Dead Period up until the opener is mandatory preparation, mandatory practice. We will be scrambling around ranking teams, ranking players, and beginning campaigns for players to make post season, all-this, all-that. One guy you should definitely monitor is LCA’s top notch IOL, Matthew Montgomery. He is a slightly undersized (by college prospect standards) powerhouse who may well be KY’s very best interior OL in the game. Enjoy this look at this exceptional player.

Jasiah McCarley, the Christian County Tigers ’28 QB in a dog fight for the job and is our Lasaters ‘Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (or Tea)’ Feature of the Week… @KatherineL58069, @coachclsmit, @ChiefSmoke10, @LasatersCoffee, @bigassfans, @CoachJEzell, @eCampusdotcom, @HenryMi74881410, @HopHighTigers, @FC_FALCONS_FB, #Kentuckys #fletcherwlong #LeadershipLegacy #CoachingExcellence #MentorshipMatters #characterbuilding #SportsLeadership #BuildingChampions #kentuckyfootball #highschoolfootball #DisciplineAndDedication #athletics #successmindset #bookstagram #booklovers

There will be those who will tell you the newly consolidated “Tigers,” from Christian County High, will go as far next season as players like Tremayne Clay can lead them. Clay is a talent and one of five (5) former Hoptown Tigers to make the Big Ass Fans’s Large School, All-State Football Team. The newly consolidated school shouldn’t hurt for talent and the Tigers are amassing an array of coaching talent to “put the team through its paces” in its upcoming inaugural season. Regardless, Clay will be critical. Good thing he is also extremely talented. Enjoy this look at one of Hopkinsville, Kentucky more talented prep-level athletes brought to you by your friends and neighbors at the Bank of Cadiz.

William Long exited like he entered; a winner and the “flashback,” Bank of Cadiz Feature of the Week @CentreFootball, @williammlong, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

June 29, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

William Long was featured many times on this forum which was partly created to publicize and support his efforts in the game of football from his middle school days forward. He never asked to be covered and, truthfully, William would have much preferred we not written about him. It has been a somewhat constant source of discord between us, truthfully. The problem has always been that William just kept accomplishing incredible things worthy of the “ink.” On his last official day as a football player, William did it a final time. Enjoy this feature about an athlete who made it a common, everyday, experience to bedazzle and bewilder us with the many accomplishments attributed to him through his many years as a football player.

Traditional ‘Dead Period’ Article, Just So You Know… @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans

June 27, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We are in the midst of a period commonly referenced as Summer Dead Period. The actual period is described and specifically set forth in the Bylaws of The Kentucky High School Athletic Association. Bylaw 24, § 3, under Summer Dead Period, sets forth partially and particularly, as it pertains to subscribers of Kentucky Prep Gridiron, the following…Students […]

Ethan Cobb from Taylor County is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator Feature of the Week @Ethan_Cobb946, @TCCardinalsFB, @ScottParkey, @WBH7272, @hudsenc55, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

Ethan Cobb has proven himself an exceptional talent among ’28 IOLs across the commonwealth of Kentucky. One could even say Cobb has been keeping it very cool there in the Campbellsville, KY football scene. Cobb was a starter and every down kind of guy for the Cardinals in 2025 and sports a three-plate (315-lbs.) bench press and a 505-pound back squat. At 5’11,” 275-pounds, that makes him extremely hard to dig out of the A-Gap. Coach Harris has come along to take Scott Parkey’s place at the helm and his staff at Taylor County High will be mighty happy, going forward into the ’26 season, to have an offensive center like Cobb. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you in that regard at Big Ass Fans!

June 22, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Kelton Forrester is a kid with a ton athletic ability and potential who was put in tough spots particularly for a freshman on a championship caliber roster at the 3A level. He will be called going forward as many seniors have exhausted eligibility and are headed to play football on Saturdays. Forrester is a track & field prospect in the commonwealth among ’29s and is already enjoying success as a varsity performer. Forrester is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him. Enjoy the feature.

JT Judd from Rowan County is a stud! @VikeN8ionRC, @CoachElfers, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @eCampusdotcom

June 20, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

There are good players on literally every roster no matter. how much that particular roster struggles. We have shown you, the reader, countless examples of this. Coach Kelly Ford’s Vikings aren’t getting a ton of ink these days. One and nine seasons will to that to any program. Still, the Vikings return most of its production from a year ago and JT Judd is a multi-phase, multi-sport stud. Last year, Judd was the ball club’s leading INT guy, leading fumbles recovery specialist, leading rusher, receiver, and scorer. That is leading the ball club in several crucial statistical categories. Heading into ’26, this is a kid who could end up on some all-state teams, like our’s (Big Ass Fans, Large School) for instance. Play hard, young man; we will be watching.
