Alex Johnson among the best in the classification among dual threat guys @Alexbjohnson5, @QBCoachFox, @PrestonsburgFB, @Wes_Hager, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

Alex “AJ” Johnson is a dual-threat stud at QB who might end up a RB in college or even a strong safety/linebacker depending on how his frame continues its development. Johnson has added 15-pounds of muscle this offseason and has his bench press up over 250 (255) and both his squat and deadlift at the four plate (405-lbs.) level. This kid has quite the season a year ago in leading the Blackcats to a 12-1 finish and a loss in the regional championship game in Fort Mitchell, KY to Beechwood. No shame there. Enjoy this look at one of 2A’s more lethal offensive skill players and brace yourself for another fine season in Prestonsburg, KY.

Bryce Armstrong from Highlands appears to be the ‘next big thing’ among Bluebird players @BryceArmstrong2, @taydenlorenzen2, @HighlandsFB, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

There aren’t too many ’29 QBs around Kentucky as athletic as Highlands High’s Bryce Armstrong. Armstrong is a 6’1,” 190-pound rising sophomore who had pretty solid numbers a season ago backing up one of the KHSAA’s better senior signal callers. Rio Litmer has moved along to “greener pastures” and Armstrong looks (to us) to be the likely heir apparent at the position for one of the KHSAA’s more storied and successful programs. Fort Thomas is coming off a 10-3 which saw them defeat some right impressive opponents in 2025. Highlands plays a tough schedule ever year which incudes a rivalry game with Covington Catholic which is a “bucket list” type match-up. Enjoy this look at a young phenom headed straight for stardom as early as the ’26 opener.

A “Pirate” may be described or defined several ways. A person who commits robbery, violence, or theft at sea is a Pirate. A person who illegally reproduces or sells copyrighted material (movies, music, software) is a Pirate. Taking something by force or reproducing content without authorization is “pirating” that information. A radio or TV station that operates without official permission maybe referred to as a pirated station. A super tough defensive lineman coming off an impressive freshman season who will be counted on to deliver for his ball club in ’26 is also a Pirate; a Berea High Pirate. Enjoy this feature about a kid from whom you are almost sure to hear plenty beginning this next Fall.

Khalen Hadley from Central High (Lou.) is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator Feature of the Week @khalenhadley, @LemmingReport, @CHSJacketFB, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

April 24, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Khalen Hadley has proven himself an exceptional talent among ’28 WRs across the commonwealth of Kentucky. One could even say Hadley has been keeping it very cool there in the Derby City football scene. Hadley played in 10-games as a sophomore, caught 30-balls, totaled 600-all purpose yards, and accounted for three (3) TDs. Hadley is a playmaker willing to play anywhere you put him. We would imagine the new staff at Central High will put him plenty of places going forward into the ’26 season. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you in that regard at Big Ass Fans!

Kenyon Cunningham is the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Co. Feature of the Week @KYHighFootball, @MurrayLedger, @CClakerfootball, @teeroyhowell, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

April 20, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Kenyon Cunningham is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level and a tremendous prospect in more than just football (basketball). Cunningham came to the Murray High roster when his dad got the job and has become among the commonwealth’s most talented players. Cunningham has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Cunningham is only going to improve over his sophomore season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities. Cunningham is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Cooper Adams is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level and a tremendous wrestler on top of his being talented on the gridiron. Adams came up from middle school among the commonwealth’s most talented players and has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Adams is only going to improve over his sophomore season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities.
