Griffin Benke from Highlands looking to help get the Bluebirds back where they belong… @Benke_Griffin, @HighlandsFB, @HSphire, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

June 13, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We scour the commonwealth of Kentucky looking for playing talent on whom to report. We don’t always find the 6’6,” 235-pound DEs and Long Snappers, but we found this one. Griffin Benke has to be among the more imposing players across Northern Kentucky playing the high school game today. He plays for one of Kentucky’s more storied programs. Benke runs the 40 in 4.82-seconds, shuttles in 4.7, has a 30-inch vertical, presses 310-pounds, reps the high school rep weight (185-pounds) 28-times, squats 400, and power cleans 245. This kid is being courted by a ton of D-1s from FCS through the Power 4s. First he has to get the Bluebirds back where that program belongs, in the championship winner’s circle. Enjoy the feature.

Braden Brison, the Christian County Tigers ’29 prospect is our Lasaters ‘Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (or Tea)’ Feature of the Week… @KatherineL58069, @coachclsmit, @ChiefSmoke10, @LasatersCoffee, @bigassfans, @CoachJEzell, @eCampusdotcom, @HenryMi74881410, @HopHighTigers, @FC_FALCONS_FB

There will be those who will tell you the newly consolidated “Tigers,” from Christian County High, will go as far next season as players like TJ Booker can lead them. Booker is a talent and played six (6) games a year ago for the Christian County Colonels as only a freshman. The newly consolidated school shouldn’t hurt for talent and the Tigers are amassing an array of coaching talent to “put the team through its paces” in its upcoming inaugural season. Regardless, young guns like Booker will be critical. Good thing he is also extremely talented. Enjoy this look at one of Hopkinsville, Kentucky more talented prep-level athletes brought to you by your friends and neighbors at Lasaters’s Coffee & Tea where you aren’t just served; you’re loved!

Caleb Collins from Calloway County is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company Feature of the Week @KYHighFootball, @MurrayLedger, @CClakerfootball, @teeroyhowell, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

June 8, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Caleb Collins is a versatile football talent in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today who is among the best at his level of play and particularly on the western end of KY. Collins came on our radar with his play last season in Coach Coby Lewis’s inaugural season at the helm of the Lakers’s ship. Since then, Collins has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Collins is only going to improve over his senior season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities. Collins is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.

Is JB Woolum a Mr. Football Candidate? We Think So! @JbWoolum2, @CoachWolford55, @BelfryFootball1, @cadenwoolum11, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @unwiredapp

June 6, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Last year, as a junior, JB Woolum helped lead Belfry to a 12-2 worksheet and a narrow, on the road, loss (5-points, 34-29) to the classification’s title winner (Lexington Christian Academy “LCA”). Woolum registered 82-rushes, 1,066-yards (13-yards a carry), 20-TDs, with 24-receptions, 520-yards, and 6-TDs receiving on offense while scoring 164-points (20-TDs rushing, 6-receiving, a KO return, and a two (2) pointer). On defense, Woolum registered 50-tackles, 1-TFL, and four (4) INTs for 70-IRNYs. On special teams, he returned punts and kicks, housing a KR. Another year like that and we have another “Mr. Football” plaque to place on the field house wall next to Isaac Dixon’s. Is JP Woolum a “Mr. Football” candidate? He is in our book!

Jeremiah Smith is built and put together the right way. Smith is compact and strong with flexibility and the willingness to contribute in multiple phases of the game. We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Head Football Coach Curtis Higgins is the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Co. Feature of the Week @CurtisHiggins11, @KYHighFootball, @MurrayLedger, @CClakerfootball, @teeroyhowell, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

June 1, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players, prospects, and sometimes a coach or two. Curtis Higgins coming home to coach a program he led his first tour to its highest winning percentage in program history is too much of a story on which to pass. Higgins is a member of the Louisville area Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and has historically been among the commonwealth’s more talented and successful coaches. Higgins is only going to improve the program’s prospects in our estimation. Higgins is the kind of head football coach one wants his kid to have mentoring him. In the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other head football coach). Enjoy the feature.

Are the Lions grooming Tyson McCray to play QB? @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball,

May 30, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Every football team has a star player regardless of the degree to which the team has struggled in any one season. The same is true of the Lewis County Lions. Coach Dalton Stamm has a young freshman in Tyson McCray they believe will round into an effective QB, has played the position in JV and for the scout team, but who is presently a three-phase performer who has carried the ball from scrimmage, caught a handful of passes, and has registered 27-tackles, registered a pair of sacks, registered a pair of INTs, and accumulated 55-IRNYs on defense all over 10-games of run as a freshman. Not a ton of freshmen hit the Friday Night Field in 3A, District 6. With in-district toughies like Russell and East Carter looming, what McCray got done in ’25 is even more impressive. No telling what this kid might do when he fully, physically matures.

Deonatae Edison is the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Co. Feature of the Week @KYHighFootball, @MurrayLedger, @CClakerfootball, @teeroyhowell, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

May 25, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Deonatae Edison is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level and a tremendous prospect in more phases than just on defense. Edison broke onto the scene over his junior year and registered a team leading among of TFLs and QB-sacks. New head coach, Curtis Higgins (that felt funny calling him “New”) needs Edison to continue being among the commonwealth’s more talented three phase threats. Edison has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Edison is only going to improve over his senior season, particularly on defense where he should get many more opportunities. Edison is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.
