John Myers has done a fine job building a winning program and culture at Barren County High. Of course, if you are a fan of KHSAA football, and avidly follow the sport, you know that is what you get when you hire a John Myers. Should we expect any less from a 140-career game winner and 70% winning percentage, Hall of Fame caliber coach? I didn’t think so. Players like today’s feature, Jackson Stephano, are the reason Myers finds so much of his success and he would be the first to tell you that. Stephano has length, explosion, sneaky speed, and the requisite size to continue to play in the slot or out wide or bulk up and play some TE in college. He will get the chance. There are a number of in-state college programs targeting him as we speak. Enjoy this look at our Kentucky Comfort Creator Feature of the Week from your friends at Big Ass Fans.

Mike Shannon, the color analyst on Jack Biuck’s broadcasts on St. Louis Cardinals network used to say, “Well Abner (Doubleday), you’ve done it again.” It looks as though Abner Doubleday may have been dabbling in KHSAA football schedules as the Tigers put an unlikely win over district heavyweight, McCracken County, to the test and came up a bit short against a very good, 8-1, Somerset High team. The Tigers brace and prepare for a season ender against Tilghman’s “Blue Tornado” just before the commencement of “season number two,” the KHSAA playoffs. Enjoy this article as we will attempt to make some sense of it all. Well, not really, we’re just enjoying the melee. You enjoy it too. One only gets one life to live.

Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in a blowout victory against a near winless opponent. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats put it all over Todd County 57-20 and several Wildcats had really big performances. Coach Curtis Higgins’s ‘Cats improved to 3-6 and are hoping to beat a very improved Fulton County team and slide off into the playoffs with some momentum. Deon Edison had another strong night and turned in a hundred plus yard rushing performance. These kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer and Edison coming up, big-time, in pivotal moments will too. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the senior athlete who played his butt off in a pivotal moment, giving his team a shot at victory. He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed. Enjoy this look at Deon Edison who (for a second time) is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company All-State Player of the Week and another patch-recipient as we brace to close out the regular season and prepare for a playoff run.

West Jessamine is cooking with grease and their big, impressive, offensive front has a lot to do with the 8-0 start and the 2-0 District 7 mark so far (as of October 23, 2026). There are two regular season games remaining, Madison Southern and 6A, Tates Creek (Lexington 6A) and both of them are games where West Jessamine figures to be (somewhat) heavily favored. Will the Colts pop a 10-0 heading into the playoffs? They will if their “Tank,” Simon Felker, has anything to say about it. Felker is a 6’0,” 280 pound C/G who squats nearly a quarter ton and deadlifts a cool 550-pounds. Felker is also our “Big Ass Fans,” Weekly Kentucky Comfort Creator. Enjoy the feature.
