We scout Tilghman’s ‘Blue Tornado’ in advance of this coming Friday’s game

The Tigers have been a mystery this season. Some weeks the team looks like a contender and other weeks not so much. The Tigers looked, in the game with McCracken, like a real threat to stay around a few rounds when the playoffs arrive. We warned the Somerset game was a trap and the trap sprung and got us. Paducah Tighman is ranked No. 4 in the Media poll and Jason Frakes (“Courier-Journal”) has them at No. 10, all-classes. Somerset, the team which just came to Hoptown and beat us, is a 2A ball club. Tilghman is an elite 4A ball club with 6A talent, roster, facilities, and coaching. Tilghman is practiced at playing 6A clubs. This will be a real test and an opportunity to shore up our RPI for playoff seeding.

Hopkinsville, KY: We warned you last week the game with Somerset (2A, 8-1) was a real “trap.” Its being scheduled between McCracken (district front runner) and Paducah Tilghman (KHSAA heavyweight, 4A) was not optimal. It bit us.

This game could be really key for playoff seeding. All three district one teams in 6A, Christian County, McCracken, and Henderson have beaten each other and stand at 1-1. The tie breaker will be the RPI. Right now, McCracken is 6th in RPI, Christian County is 16th, and Henderson is 21st.

A McCracken loss to 5A Graves, and a Christian County win over a very strong, undefeated Paducah Tilghman squad, could flip-flop the RPI’s and put the Tigers in the number one slot in the district. At the very least, we need to stay ahead of Henderson County who closes with Owensboro Senior (5A).

We want to stay at number two. We want to play the first round game at home.

We are going to break down the matchup with Tilghman. Tilghman is among the very best teams in the KHSAA at any level of competition. That aside, the Tigers have enough talent to win this game, particularly at home.

Here is the handicap and breakdown for the highly anticipated high school football matchup between the Christian County Tigers and the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado.

🏟️ Game Info & Location

  • Where it’s played: Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville, KY.
  • When: Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM CDT.

📊 Club Records

  • Paducah Tilghman’s Blue Tornado: 9-0 overall (5-0 District). They are heavily favored as one of the premier Class 4A powerhouses in Kentucky.
  • Christian County’s Tigers: 3-6 overall (1-1 District). Following the recent historic athletic program merger combining the Hopkinsville Tigers and Christian County Colonels, the unified squad has flashed high-end talent but struggled with consistency.

🌟 Star Players to Watch

Paducah Tilghman, The Blue Tornado

  • Avery Thompson (WR/QB): A 5-star caliber junior with a massive list of Power 4 offers (including Kentucky, Louisville, and Auburn).
  • Xavier Isable (QB): The elite junior signal-caller who captains this high-scoring offensive engine.
  • JaAubrey Sherrill (RB/CB): A dangerous dual-threat junior weapon out of the backfield.
  • Cameron Dempsey (C): A reliable 6’1″, 215-pound senior center who manages the line calls and ensures clean snaps for the high-powered Blue Tornado offense.
  • Alan Agee (T): A towering 6’6″ junior tackle providing incredible length and massive depth to the outside pass protection.

Christian County’s Fighting Tigers

  • Jasiah McCarley (QB): An explosive quarterback capable of pushing the ball vertically downfield.
  • Deasian Harris (RB): The primary ground threat for the Tigers, averaging an impressive 93.0 rushing yards per game.
  • Paul Abren (RB/LB) & Jaylen Ray (WR/CB): High-impact senior leaders who carry the load on both sides of the ball.
  • Tristin Dillard (RB): The kid has been very effective between the tackles getting tough yardage and scoring TDs for his club in this his senior season.
  • Jayleigh Campbell (PK): She has shown she has what it takes to trot out there and win a tight contest for the Tiger team.

🏈 Game Handicap & Prediction

This game presents a classic structural mismatch on paper. Paducah Tilghman enters the game utterly dominant, averaging nearly 50 points per game while showcasing a stellar defense that locks opponents down. Christian County has the explosive athletic pieces to execute early deep-passing chunk plays, but keeping pace for four quarters against the Blue Tornado’s depth will be a monumental task.

Expect the unified Tigers to show a lot of heart at home in the Stadium of Champions, but Tilghman’s defensive front and overwhelming firepower should break the game open by the second half.

  • Likely Winner: Paducah Tilghman’s Blue Tornado
  • KPGFootball’s predicts: Paducah Tilghman 49, Christian County 24
