Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in a blowout victory against a near winless opponent. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats put it all over Todd County 57-20 and several Wildcats had really big performances. Coach Curtis Higgins’s ‘Cats improved to 3-6 and are hoping to beat a very improved Fulton County team and slide off into the playoffs with some momentum. Deon Edison had another strong night and turned in a hundred plus yard rushing performance. These kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer and Edison coming up, big-time, in pivotal moments will too. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the senior athlete who played his butt off in a pivotal moment, giving his team a shot at victory. He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed. Enjoy this look at Deon Edison who (for a second time) is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company All-State Player of the Week and another patch-recipient as we brace to close out the regular season and prepare for a playoff run.
