’28 RB/ATH scores three (3) TDs against Trinity’s biggest rival (St. Xavier, Louisville) with another St. Xavier upcoming tonight!
Ashton Taylor has the Trinity Shamrocks right where he wants them, sitting at 5-1, ranked at the top of the all-classification poll in Kentucky and ranked the 27th best team at the high school level in the country. Taylor, a 5’11,” 170 pounder plays running back, can locate at slot receiver, and is capable of contributing (particularly next level) at safety on defense to ago along with contributions to both the coverage and return units on special teams. He’s a multi-phase guy with a ton of tools. Taylor is a versatile, multi-positional star with a bountiful skill set. The “Rocks” are home tonight to play a team routinely among Ohio’s best ball clubs. Thankfully, this game will be played in Louisville. Should the Rocks emerge from this game, 6-1, look out; as finding an in-KY team to challenge Trinity just seems to get harder.

Louisville, KY: Kentucky seems to be garnering more interest from Power 4 football teams in FBS, Division I, these days. I can’t remember a time where Kentucky kids were getting more opportunities to shine. Many of them are doing just that…many of them have outfits, like Corey Taylor’s Sports Performance, to thank.
We know Ashton Taylor is thankful. Thanks for the good genes, the excellent training, and the copious opportunities.
Taylor is making the most to these opportunities. The ’28 athlete is already a nationally rated, four (4) star prospect and a ranked prospect in his class across KY.
Ashton Taylor is a young guy (2028) who is quicker than a hiccup, can move his feet, can sink, spin, stop on a dime, and accelerate back to full throttle almost in an instant. Taylor is coordinated, possessing length, agility, burst.
That is how Taylor scored three (3) TDs in the team’s biggest in-commonwealth game (St. Xavier (Lou.)). That is how he has already garnered interest and offers from Arizona State, BYU, California, Louisville, and Minnesota.
Trinity High has a tough game upcoming. While the St. Xavier (Cincinnati) is 3-3, the Bombers are coming off a win over Elder High, 31-29.
Elder is 5-1, among the top-rated teams in Ohio, and boasts wins over Covington Catholic (56-20) on August 28th and a St. Xavier (Lou.) (31-0) on September 18th. In other words, the Bombers are tough customers, in spite of a So-So, ’26 record.

KPGFootball predicts: Trinity is favored to win this matchup, at home, 26-20. Here is how we see the game:
Other Key Star Players in addition to Ashton Taylor

Matchup Analysis

The Momentum: Trinity enters the game with massive momentum after completely dominant performances, most recently walloping their in-state rivals, St. Xavier (Louisville), 44-0 on September 25.
Historical Context: This cross-state series has traditionally been a low-scoring, defensive slugfest. In 2025, the Bombers edged out Trinity 17-14 in Cincinnati, while Trinity claimed a tight 7-3 victory at home in 2024.
Home Field Advantage: Playing at Marshall Stadium gives the Shamrocks the upper hand. Their defense has shown elite form over the last few weeks, which should limit a historically methodical St. Xavier offense.
