’29 WR/LB/DB/KR/ATH ranked by Prep RedZone among the best in his class
Quinton Simon is an “under the radar” type. He was a freshman on Highland’s 10-win, ’25 team and only got varsity run in two “Friday Night” games (varsity). Simon was a star on JV/Freshman team (like in basketball) and made his “Friday Night” action count (a pair of TD receptions on the year and nearly 25-yards per catch across three receptions). Simon is 5’10,” 175-pounds and ranked the ninth (9th) best athlete, Kentucky-wide, in the KHSAA’s 2029 graduating class by “Prep RedZone,” a nationally circulated recruiting service. He also sports a 3.77-GPA making him an attractive “take” at virtually any level. Oh yeah, this guy right here will have a huge coming out this Fall. Count on it!

The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.
Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product.
Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator. These days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?
This week our feature is about Quinton Simon. Simon was a freshman who played sparingly on Fort Thomas, Kentucky’s Highlands High School varsity roster, mostly as a receiver/special teams guy. Simon appears likely to contribute to the ’26 ball club and will be instrumental to the team’s ability to produce the type of skill play requisite to challenge for a 4A title.

Fort Thomas, KY: Programs like the one the Bluebirds have put on the field over the years survive on talent and excellent coaching and administrative/institutional support. One doest win 23-KHSAA football titles by accident.

Quinton Simon is a super-frosh who managed a paltry two (2) games under the Friday Night Lights in 2025. Of course, finding the field (at all) as a freshman playing at one of Kentucky’s (and America’s) premier football programs is no small task.
Simon is a special athlete as he showed on the JV field both in football and as a guard in basketball. How good of an athlete is Simon?
Well, good enough that Prep RedZone has listed him the 9th best athlete playing KHSAA football in Kentucky’s 2029 graduating class. How’s that for good?
We have mentioned Simon got a couple games run in varsity as a freshman. The really good ones make opportunities count.
Simon made his two nights of run count. That is one way to determine a future star.
Simon caught three (3) passes in 2025, two (2) of which went for TDs, and accumulated 74-yards in receiving yardage. That comes out to roughly 25-yards per. That is pretty darn good and indicative of the type of athlete we are featuring here.
How did Simon do on JV/Freshman? Good enough to win the JV/Freshman team’s Player of the Year on both sides of the scrimmage line.
When you consider Simon’s dimensions things come even more in focus. Simon is a 5’10,” 175-pounder who is big enough to plug in at LB and fast enough to play in the third level of the defense at DB.
How fast you ask? Among Simon’s athletic specialties is his ability to contribute in the special team’s return game at KR. You send your best athlete deep to return kicks for you. Look for this, from the get, in 2026 out of Simon.

Most fans around the commonwealth are familiar with Prep Redzone. Prep Redzone is a nationally circulated recruiting service which has shown a penchant for disseminating accurate forecasts from the perspective of predicting future Kentucky talent.

Simon will be on everyone’s wish list and shouldn’t be overlooked regardless of how little he played over his freshman season. As a high school player, Simon is just too talented to not play consistently this coming season.
Simon could stand to be a tad taller; but, he’s just entering his sophomore season and we don’t know his frame is finished. Simon has good length in his extremities and supple hands with really good wheels, so he is a “take,” particularly with his GPA making him an instant qualifier.
Fort Thomas Highlands has plenty of roster talent. Fort Thomas grows good football playing stock and has produced many next level guys through the years.

In 2025, Highlands came out of the gate really hot, and looked like a 4A contender for much of the year. They lost in the regional finals to a Corbin team as good as anyone.
Athletes like Simon can make lineups appear formidable even where they aren’t. Look for the Bluebirds to get hot in 2026.
