’27 two-way lineman coming off a productive junior season
Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) played a murder’s row type schedule in 2025 and still won the 2A title and finished 12-3. Of course, not all three (3) loss seasons are similarly situated. This particular three loss worksheet also boasted an opening weekend victory over a ranked 6A team in North Hardin and a win in the “Holy War” over 3A rival, Lexington Catholic. LCA will have a target on its back the entire ’26 Fall and it would be unwise to overlook the pride of Lexington’s 2A classification regardless of how large of an enrollment from which your school may benefit. Enjoy this look at a rising senior two-way lineman who made a difference for his team and had his Eagles playing its best football at exactly the right time of year last season.

eCampus.com was built on a simple idea: make textbooks affordable, convenient, and accessible for every student. Founded in 1999 in Lexington, KY and backed by visionary investors like Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas, the company has grown into a premier online textbook retailer for high school and college students nationwide.
Their mission has always been supporting student success both on and off the field through affordable access to the course materials they need. eCampus.com is excited to invest in our student-athletes through Kentucky Prep Gridiron (KPGFootball) which was founded to promote and assist young high school football players get promoted to “next level,” college football opportunities.
That is why eCampus.com sponsors the KPGFootball, Big Man on the eCampus series. This week’s Big Man on the eCampus feature is Lexington Christian Academy’s rising senior, two-way lineman, Max Disterick (’27).
Disterick was productive as a junior and is expected to make the most of a senior year which sees him coming off a productive, under the radar type season. Disterick will continue to be a critical, piece of the puzzle upfront for the Eagles, particularly on defense where he enjoyed his most prolific, statistical success on one of Kentucky’s premier high school football rosters and high school defenses.
Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) perennially competes for KHSAA championships at its level of play. Players driving the defense, like Max Disterick, are among the reasons why.
Lexington, KY: Max Disterick, ’27, was logging critical snaps on a defensive unit playing, perhaps, its best football at the exact right time of year in ’25. By playoff time the Eagles were rolling and LCA was able to beat a tough customer, Owensboro Catholic (13-2), 33-28 in the title game.

The title was the program’s second ever. Now the Eagles get to experience being the hunted over being the hunter.
The fact is this…the Eagles were young in 2025. Many believed LCA was (at least) a year away from contending in ’25.
Their winning it all in ’25 makes the Eagles a definite threat to repeat in ’26. The Eagles have the pieces, both in place and returning, to do it.
Max Disterick was a Junior a season ago and had quite the productive year. Disterick developed and improved steadily throughout the campaign and registered 15-tackles in eight (8) games of action over the course of the ’25 season.
The most important statistic was Disterick and cohorts leading the Eagles to the 2A title, its second all-time. In the end, that is the statistic people will most likely remember about any player who was fortunate enough to be on that roster.
Disterick is a member of one of the KHSAA’s best ’27 classes at LCA. One might say the state champion Eagles developed along the same arch as its prized ’27 lineman.

Lyons can play guard on offense in addition to his defensive contributions. While he was mostly used for on defense, this is a guy with the athleticism to contribute to the offensive side of the ball and even on special teams both covering kicks and punts and blocking on the return teams.
As you can see, Disterick’s performances improved as his experience in the lineup continued to expand resulting in Disterick getting more settled and comfortable as the season progressed. All of this benefitted his team whose best football may still be yet to come. That is a scary thought.
Like we constantly mention, linemen don’t make plays without the second and third level defenders keeping filling slots in the run box and taking on ball carriers and intermediary receivers in space. The success of the defensive linemen is directly related to the play of the other defenders who are charged with “flying around” and making plays.

Friday Night Fletch
Against a gauntlet of football powers at different classes in the middle of playing one of the more difficult schedules in the KHSAA last year, Max Disterick proved himself among the more versatile, multiphase weapons on the roster. It was fine production, indeed, for any junior particularly in only eight (8) games of varsity playing time. Disterick figures to only increase that output as a senior this coming season.
We recognize LCA will have to continue to play well if the program is to continue to experience the success it had in its second championship season. That being said, we are still predicting it likely the Eagles challenge for the title in ’26 like the program customarily does annually.
We don’t know whether Disterick will round into a next level kid or future college football player or not. We aren’t sure if it will be at DL, OG, or some other position and the level at which he figures to play will depend on how he ultimately develops and what kind of statistical year he can enjoy as a senior.
We don’t know Disterick’s exact height and weight. However, we would be willing to wager Disterick could use another half an inch or so and 20 or so pounds, if he is going to be a division one, college lineman, offensively or defensively.
We know this, Disterick’s performance on “Friday Nights,” as an 11th-grader, only strengthened (in our minds) our prediction concerning his future playing prospects. We also know Disterick, like Matthew Montgomery, about whom we persistently write, is a strong academic performer with excellent class standing and almost assuredly will be a “full qualifier,” in the NCAA clearinghouse, when the time comes.
For now, Disterick is one other thing in addition to all the other skills and assets we have highlighted. Disterick is among the very best players in the KHSAA’s ’27 graduating class on his roster as it prepared to open the ’26 season. Disterick is also our eCampus.com, Big Man on the eCampus, Feature of the Week!
Join us next week as we feature another eCampus.com, Big Man on the eCampus. Until then, from any classroom to every field, eCampus.com delivers an easy, fast, and affordable way to order textbooks for students everywhere.
