There are plenty of people around the western end of Kentucky waiting to see what a consolidated football roster at the new school will look like. The Tigers were a right formidable, district one, 6A team in 2025 on its own. Still, there are some pieces from the former Colonel roster which will undoubtedly help add to a group of players from Hopkinsville High who will also be assimilated. We believe the conglomerate will add up to a formidable 6A team. We believe that hope is both well founded and likely. Deasian Harris is a kid who passes the “eye ball” test and renders “next level-capable” performances. This new school provides Harris an opportunity to demonstrate, more fully, exactly the type of football player he really is. I will look forward to seeing how this ends up working. Hopkinsville, KY: We are all excited about what we potentially may see out of the newly consolidated Christian County Tigers. Their posted weight room numbers have been impressive. Individual players have performed well on the camp/combine circuit. The team has been impressive in Sevens ( 7 on 7) throws thus far.
August 21, 2026, the home opener against Class 5A Cooper (8-4 last year and new head football coach, Adam Begley) can’t seem to get here fast enough. Yes, we are assuming the sink hole situation can be remedied in time for the Tigers to open at home. We have checked with anonymous sources within the district who believe this to be the case.
One guy who promises to be utilized, and quite a bit, from off the old Christian County Colonel roster will be rising senior, Deasian Harris. Harris proved to be quite the piece of athletic skill set while serving his former football team from a year ago.
Deasian Harris (’27) gained 584-yards and scored 6-rushing TDs as a junior for the now defunct Christian County Tigers. Harris caught 8-passes swinging out of the backfield, led the former team in scoring, and registered 42-tackles with 14-TFLs and a pair of sacks.

Friday Night Fletch
Deasian Harris is a member of the powerlifting team and is among the football team’s more prolific performers in the bench, squat, and power clean disciplines.
Against Hopkinsville, perhaps the biggest game of the year for the Colonels in ’26, Harris was particularly potent. Against the Tigers, Harris gained 82-yards from scrimmage, scored a rushing TD, and registered eight (8) tackles with a TFL.
We call that coming up big for the team’s biggest game, a trait shared by big-timers and next level capable performers. We know the new Tigers, the Christian County Tigers, are hoping for similar performances from this rising senior.
We don’t know what the future holds for Harris as the rosters conjoin. It will be both a hard and bitter pill for sworn enemies to disavow age-old prejudices in favor of comity and uniting against new foes, new enemies.
We know Harris will contribute in the offensive backfield. We believe Harris will contribute defensively too.
Harris has the want to and the ability to perform at a very high clip. Now all he needs is opportunity. That will be forthcoming in very short order.
