There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. This week’s recipient is a player who appeared in 10 or so games in 2019 as a sophomore on a roster which was heavily laden with senior talent. Chris Hill has the frame, hostility, and athletic ability to really come to the fore in 2020 and we look for him to do just that. Hill’s efforts will really make the Maroons’ offense roll this coming season and he figures to be in the rotation on the defense front too. Talk about your under appreciated football talents in Kentucky, we think Tanner Coyle, Pleasure Ridge Park, is one of the best MLBers and FBs in Kentucky’s graduating class of 2021. He puts the work in slinging the iron and those are numbers which can’t be faked. They just are what they are. If we were fielding a team, we don’t mind telling you he would certainly be on it. This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is a top-flight, 2022 SDE playing for Louisville’s Male High School. His name is Selah Brown. This is a kid ranked a 4-star national recruit by many of the most established recruiting services and one consistently ranked among the very best with his hand in the dirt playing along the defense’s line of scrimmage in his graduating class throughout the commonwealth. Here is an outstanding two way lineman for the Todd County Central Rebels who plays tackle for his high school team but predicts to slide inside at the next level. Damarcus is a kid we have before featured and one of the very best high school players in the Big Sky Conference’s little school division. New Coach Josh Robins will need his contributions to build off the success of his predecessor. The Rebels were 6-5 a year ago and have the weapons back to challenge for the district this coming year.
