@grindtimesayy (Selah Brown) from @MaleBulldogs is the @1776Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week.

Projected to play strong-side defensive end (SDE), Brown, a 4-star, is the highest rated down lineman in his class in the commonwealth.

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player who, quite frankly, is the premier defensive lineman in his graduating class in the entire commonwealth. This week we honor Selah Brown of Louisville Male High School.

Brown made KPGFootball’s underclassmen All-State teams. He’s another “Derby City” prospect we’ve covered for quite some time.

Brown’s Male High School in Louisville is right down the road from the Independence Bank branch located in the popular and well-known, Saint Matthews Square, on 3901 Shelbyville Road.

Go on down and see our friends in Saint Matthews Square and give them both the opportunity and privilege to earn your business. Let them demonstrate to you what makes Independence Bank the best in the banking business  and the fastest growing financial institution in Kentucky.

Selah Brown is, without question, the premier and most ballyhooed player along the down four among such players in his graduating class of 2022. Brown has been rated a 4-star player by most of the national rating services and sports offers from Power-5s like UK, Louisville, West Virginia, Purdue, and Missouri, among others.

Brown had “Power-5” production in 2019 too. The then sophomore registered 50-tackles, 15 TFLs, 9 QB-sacks, 2 FFs, and 4 FRs. We call that “stat-stuffing.”

That is impressive production from that position regardless of the circumstances. It is particularly impressive out of a sophomore playing football in Kentucky’s highest classification against the toughest competition the Bluegrass can proffer.

At 6-3, 263-pounds, Brown has an idea frame to play where college programs see him, next level. He is limber, shows great bend, plays with leverage, dips well, and uses his length, speed, and burst to scream off the end, causing backfield chaos. He is also both big and powerful enough to read the play, scrape down the line, and shed the big tackle attempting to keep him from making plays.

You will see from his highlights above linked, this player has tremendous range, athleticism, agility, speed, and power. Basically, he’s a stud. That is about all anyone can say.

Congratulations, Selah Brown, both for your Revolutionary Play in 2019 and that which is to come in 2020, all of which has earned you this week’s recognition. Go out there and show them of what you’re made, Selah…your friends at the Independence Bank in Saint Matthews Square will all be watching!

For the rest of you reading this, go see our friends at the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky who owe that growth to the men, women, and revolutionary financial products available for its banking customers. Go down and see our friends at your local Independence Bank.
