We scout the Henderson Colonels at Christian County Tigers game this coming Friday

It is easy to praise an offense on a night where the Tigers registered 48-points, accumulated 470-yards of offense, rushed for 280-yards, and tallied 19-first downs in only 45-plays run from scrimmage. However, it is defense which wins championships and if the Tigers are to polish off a first district crown in its inaugural season it will be the efforts on that side of the ball likely to reign supreme. Friday night, the defense bore its claws. the Tigers allowed just 65-total yards of offense, seven (7) first downs, minus two yards (-2) of rushing output on a night which would see every point scored, scored on a unit other than its defense. The Tigers won 48-5 on a night where the margin felt larger than the 43-points it actually was and the defense deserves recognition for its fine play.

Hopkinsville, KY: As far as big games go, we just don’t know if they come any bigger than this Friday night in Hopkinsville. Both Henderson County (3-4) and Hopkinsville (2-4) are still in the thick of the first district race (6A) and this coming game will go a long way toward clearing up that picture.

Henderson is 1-0 in district one as are the Tigers and both teams have beaten Daviess County, who is in the cellar. Both teams have McCracken (5-2, 1-0 with wins over Logan County and Murray High) yet to come. The Tigers and the Colonels will need a win against a battle tested, accomplished McCracken team to capture the district one crown and playoff one-seed. Isn’t this exciting?

As I sit here today, I am unsure how the folks in Hopkinsville will view anything short of a district title for its consolidated football team. The Tigers have skilled talent across its roster. The community is accustomed to seeing good football out of the high schools which combined to comprise the “new school.”

One of the schools, Hopkinsville High, was 7-5 a year ago and exited the playoffs, in 2025, in the second round, on the road, after getting a first round, home game. The “new school” would also like a first round, home game, and can sew that up with a win on Friday night. The stakes are the same for Henderson.

We are going to do something we commonly do, but haven’t done yet in this serial article. “There’s a first time for everything.” Anonymous.

The Henderson County vs Christian County football game is scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM CDT at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville, KY. Here is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea official scout:

Henderson County is predicted to win the upcoming Class 6A District 1 matchup against the Christian County Tigers by most publications. We respectfully disagree.

Analytical sports algorithms like the On3 Massey Ratings Forecast predict a final score of Henderson County 42, Christian County 28. We like that score, but are taking it the other way,…

Lasaters’ Coffee & Tea predicts: Christian County 42, Henderson 28

Game Handicap & Odds Breakdown

  • Predicted Winner (by the majority of pundits): Henderson County Colonels
  • Projected Score: 42 – 28
  • Estimated Point Spread (Handicap): Henderson County -14
  • Win Probability: Henderson County 74% | Christian County 26%

Key Matchup Factors

  • Recent Performance: Both teams come into this game with comparable overall records—Henderson County stands at 3-4 while Christian County sits at 2-4. However, Henderson County recently built momentum with blowout victories over Daviess County (42-3) and Central Hardin (42-0) before a tight 53-48 loss to George Rogers Clark. Meanwhile, Christian County is coming off consecutive multi-touchdown losses against South Warren and Frederick Douglass.
  • Historical Edge: Henderson County has historically dominated recent matchups in this series. In their October 2025 meeting, Henderson County cruised to a 67-29 victory, following a 49-18 win over Christian County in 2024. This is meaningless however as, while Henderson beat the crap out of the Christian County Colonels, they lost to the Tigers (Hopkinsville) 31-29.

• • Home-Field Factor: The game will take place at Christian County. While home-field advantage provides some protection against the spread, Henderson County’s more explosive offensive production (averaging 34.8 points per game) gives them the clear analytic edge to cover a two-touchdown handicap.

We are taking the Tigers because WE BELIEVE in the Tigers coaching staff and its battle tested head football coach, Dustin Lopez. We believe in Christian County, Kentucky…that’s why we do business here!

Join us next week as we honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, get on down to one of our Christian County Area locations and remember, our products are superior and one of kind; just like the Christian County Tiger defense.
