Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in a blowout victory against a pretty stout opponent. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats put it all over Fulton County 41-12 and several Wildcats had really big performances. Coach Curtis Higgins’s ‘Cats improved to 4-6 and are hoping to travel to Owensboro and (perhaps) surprise an Aces team very much considered a “title contender” at the 2A level. Zamarrion Broussard had another strong night and turned in a multi-TD scoring effort. These kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer and Broussard coming up, big-time, in pivotal moments will too. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the junior WR/DB/Athlete who played his butt off in a pivotal moment, giving his team victory. He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed. Enjoy this look at Zamarrion Broussard who is our Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company All-State Player of the Week and another patch-recipient as we brace for the ’26 season’s “second season.”

This usually is a pretty fun article. This is the final push before we begin playoff football. Man, this is a fun time of year. Win, and you advance. Lose, and it is basketball season. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 5-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

West Jessamine is cooking with grease and their big, impressive, offensive front has a lot to do with the 8-0 start and the 2-0 District 7 mark so far (as of October 23, 2026). There are two regular season games remaining, Madison Southern and 6A, Tates Creek (Lexington 6A) and both of them are games where West Jessamine figures to be (somewhat) heavily favored. Will the Colts pop a 10-0 heading into the playoffs? They will if their “Tank,” Simon Felker, has anything to say about it. Felker is a 6’0,” 280 pound C/G who squats nearly a quarter ton and deadlifts a cool 550-pounds. Felker is also our “Big Ass Fans,” Weekly Kentucky Comfort Creator. Enjoy the feature.

Sometimes we like to do things a bit differently. The Tigers are coming off an off week and come home to play a critical, first district matchup against the Henderson County Colonels. The district title is still out there for the taking to the “winner” of this Friday Night’s game. We will scout the matchup and attempt to predict a score and a winner. Big game, and the Tiger coaching staff couldn’t be anymore aware.

Bruce Willis (’27) from Murray High is the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company Superior Performance, Exceptional Quality Player of the Week @KatherineL58069, @murrayhighFB, @MurrayQBClub, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @County_TigerFB, #Kentuckys #fletcherwlong #LeadershipLegacy #CoachingExcellence #MentorshipMatters #characterbuilding #SportsLeadership #BuildingChampions #kentuckyfootball #highschoolfootball #DisciplineAndDedication #athletics #successmindset #bookstagram #booklovers

Bruce Willis, a dual-threat, 2027 QB from West Tennessee who moved (luckily) into Murray High’s district this offseason, led his new team to an impressive, 58-50, double-overtime victory over Class 5A, first District contender Owensboro Apollo. Willis looks in firm control of Melvin Cunningham’s offense and able to deliver the type offensive production necessary for the Tigers to make another run at the Class 3A, KHSAA football title this year. Willis doesn’t throw it quite as well as last year’s QB (Wyatt Robbins) but he runs it better and the result in a dynamic, versatile offense that will be hard for 3A, western KY defenses to manage. Enjoy this inaugural, 2026, Bank of Cadiz Player of the Week. We’re playing for patches now, Men! Now, it gets serious! Enjoy the feature…

There is an old Greek proverb that reads, “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” It’s one the Stoics would have agreed with. This is a concept with which offensive linemen like Harrison McGraw are well familiar. Linemen like McGraw live to make others players more successful, to lighten the burden of those slotted around him, and not to glorify themselves. Still, guys like McGraw are hard to miss; especially for guys who are reputed experts like I am. Enjoy this look at a guy coming back to help insure North Oldham takes that next step. Quality programs don’t skimp on any of football’s three phases. You will find that is true of most of your “Big Time,” “Big Boy,” KHSAA football programs. That certainly explains Isaiah Kiser (’30). Kiser is a rising 9th-grade place-kicker who was sending kicks into the end zone and over the head of the deep man on the opponent’s kick return team as an eighth grader. That is called having a lithe leg. Kiser is a soccer player in addition to football. Kiser is a multi-faceted talent who makes a difference on a football team not always noticed by the casual fan. We are a long way from either casual or just a fan of KHSAA football. Enjoy the feature.

Colleges are looking for QBs like Fox Coons and who could blame them? @coons_foxx, @WoodfordFBall, @PrepRedzone, @khsaafootball, @KyhighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

March 14, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Fox Coons comes into the ’26 season a “favorite” to challenge for “Mr. Football.” He is 6’5,” 240-pounds and is coming off a year where he threw for over 3,300-yards and 41-TDs. Coons clocked a 4.9-second, 40-yard dash at the Best of the Midwest college combine and registered 4.83-seconds on his “pro agility shuttle.” This kid is playing at the right program too. Coach Dennis Johnson has his team contending yearly for 5A supremacy and making deep, deep playoff runs each and every November/December. Is this coming season the season where the Yellow Jackets break through and walk off Kroger field with a 5A title. Trotting Fox Coons out to run the offense is a pretty good place from which to start. Enjoy this feature.
