’32 QB has an enviable frame and an entire quiver of skills
By use of the word “quiver” we are meaning the noun form of that word or “…a long, tube-like container worn on the back, hip, or ground to hold arrows for a bow Merriam-Webster.” Brayden Miles, class of 2032, is a 6’0,” 165-pound QB who is a three (3) sport athlete (FB/Wrestling/Track) and, from where we are sitting, perhaps the best QB-prospect to come out of Greenup County since Eli Sammons (’20) and a kid with a quiver of tools. Enjoy this look at a prospect who will be starring on the middle school level this coming fall but will certainly be coming to a high school near Lloyd, Kentucky in the near future.

Lloyd, KY: Robert Frost is perhaps the greatest poet of all time in American Literature. Frost is the only poet to be awarded four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is a poem Frost authored in 1922 and published in 1923 in his New Hampshire volume. Imagery, personification, and repetition are prominent in the work. In a letter to Louis Untermeyer, Frost called the poem my best bid for remembrance.
The text of the poem reflects the thoughts of a lone wagon driver (the narrator), on the night of the winter solstice, the darkest evening of the year, pausing at dusk in his travel to watch snow falling in the woods. It ends with the narrator reminding himself that, despite the loveliness of the view, I have promises to keep, / And miles to go before I sleep.
When we think of ’32 QB prospect, Brayden Miles, and the figurative miles he has to go before his promising career is completed, we often think of Frost and his famous work. Brayden Miles has been reminding a few people of a few other people here lately; which is the reason for this feature.
Perhaps the greatest QB-prospect to ever come out of Greenup County, Kentucky was a guy we featured on here years ago. His name was Eli Sammons (probably still is).
Sammons signed with Marshall’s Thundering Herd after an all-state prep career which would see him establish all kinds of passing marks for his Muskateers. Sammons was a 6’6,” pro-style, pocket passer who threw for close to 2,000-yards and 21-TDs over the course of his senior year.
The Muskateers would turn in a four (4) and seven (7) worksheet in 2019. The boys from Lloyd, Kentucky would bow out of the first round of the playoffs at the hands of Paul Blazer High (Ashland, KY).
Blazer was 10-3 that year. It wasn’t as if the Tomcats were the Little Sisters of the Poor. Blazer would go undefeated (11-0), and win a title, in the Covid shortened season the very next year (2020)!
Greenup Middle School has a signal caller likely to remind the locals of some fun times this coming Fall and many Falls in the future. His name is Brayden Miles and he may be the best young QB to come through the program since Sammons left.

Miles is 6’0,” 165-pounds which is quite a bit of height and length in a middle school frame at the QB-slot. Miles wrestles and competes in track & field, in addition to football, which is quite an array of athletic skills for the young man.
On top of all of that, Miles sports a 3.8-GPA and led his team to the ’25 TSYFL (Tri-State Youth Football League) Turf Bowl Championship at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards Stadium. How’s that for accomplished, for impressive?
Miles has many miles to travel before his prep career even commences. However, there is little doubt the career is off to a great start and that this young man has skills which recommend well to next level, QB‘ing, future stardom.
There’s lots left to do. The work has only just begun.
