If you don’t know what kind of football program they have going at Springfield High School, then you don’t know enough about high school football to read this magazine. Well, the mighty Yellow-Jackets will get it on tonight against its most hated, Cross-County rival, Greenbrier. Nate Kendrick is a guy who could figure prominently into the outcome on both the defensive and offensive sides of the football. He’s a 6-0, 249 pound defensive lineman principally who has been getting used as a lead blocker from out of the backfield with more frequency as the season as worn along. Haley is a 2021 lineman who is a two-way guy but more known for being a road-grading interior OL at LG. His play regularly exceeds any and all reasonable expectations, week after week. This Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Tristan Petit, who may be one of the finest guard prospects on any roster in Tennessee Class 4A. He certainly plays at one of the classification’s highest regarded programs. Tristan is a kid who really needs to show he can play football with enough motor to continue to drive his feet and pound the ground through the referee’s whistle. Once he does that, his stock will shoot through the roof because his is a frame you don’t see everyday.
