It is hard to impossible to have a very good football program without quality front-line football players. If you can get them to break into the lineup at an early stage where you get the maximum amount of repetitions for them, well that is a premium.

Springfield High School hasn’t been the program in Tennessee’s 4A classification where one would expect young players to play early. The Yellow Jackets have definitely got it going in Springfield, Tennessee and deep playoff runs are starting to be expected for Coach Dustin Wilson’s charges like they were under so many previous head men at such a storied program.

Tres Haley has shown over the first two years of his playing career that he is going to be a big part of the Jacket line play. Haley is 6-0 and weighs 285-pounds but has a frame which leads us to suspect he has some growing to do yet. Tres got most of his run in 2018 at left guard and it is easily expected he will be stationed there again for his junior year. If we were to wager, KPGFootball would bet Haley will play considerable time along the defensive front too, before it is said and done.

Congratulations, to Tres Haley for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
