’28 WR/DB getting ready for a huge junior year
I have always been a big fan of the song “Joy to the World” by “Three Dog Night.” That song begins telling us a story about a bullfrog named “Jeremiah” who was the lyricist’s good friend and (apparently) drinking companion. We are sure those lyrics are some sort of code. We don’t really care to learn of what, we just like the song. This particular “Jeremiah,” the WR/Corner and not the Bullfrog, is surnamed “Burbage” and he is a freaking football player. He’s a very good player and someone who brings tremendous Joy to the Eagles’s World. Enjoy this feature. He will be needed a ton in 2026.

Perhaps he should have made it. No all-state team is flawless.
Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) perennially competes for KHSAA championships at its level of play. Players developing into stars, like Jeremiah Burbage, have a ton to do with any football program’s success.
Lexington, KY: Lexington Christian Academy runs one of the more successful and prestigious high school football programs across the commonwealth. One reason is the excellent coaching student-athletes benefit from receiving. Another is the roster talent which annually ladens the team’s play rotation.
The ’28 graduating class is particularly laden with talent. LCA has one of the better classes of ’28s in Kentucky.
Matthew Montgomery is among the finest in the class at the OL position, Kentucky-wide. Nash Whelan is a dual-threat guy who has gotten better and better this season. Dawson Farmer is a guy who is coming on this offseason and will be counted on as the ’26 season arrives. Nick Greer is a very strong player at the center sot.
Jeremiah Burbage‘s performance sizes up well with anyones. First of all, Burbage is a versatile kid who contributes all over the field for the Eagles in a variety of phases.
You guys know how much we prize versatility and that trait is quintessential at the 2A level no matter how well stocked your roster happens to be. If you don’t know this about us, you might should read us more frequently.
Burbage has an enviable frame. At 6’1,” 175-lbs., Burbage has good height and long appendages which give him admirable length, prized attributes for both corner and WR. Burbage also has long fingers and big hands which dwarf the football and make it an easier catch for him than it would be for others.

Friday Night Fletch
Burbage had quite a bit of two-way production in the championship run. On offense, Burbage snagged 13-balls for 275-yards and three (3) TDs. Burbage was among the leaders in scoring.
On defense, Burbage registered 24-tackles, a FR, a pair of FFs, 15-passes broken up (PBUs), while permitting only six (6) receptions the entire season. We call that a lock down corner from where I come.
Burbage was an integral part of both the down field passing game and the pass-defense. That is a ton of versatility. That is a ton of production.
Burbage is in the midst of a big-time offseason for his future recruitment and development. Most players in HS experience their most drastic improvement and development between the sophomore and junior years.
That is a scary thing to contemplate. LCA’s sophomores seemed pretty far along, both physically and in terms of game-play, this past season.
Perhaps one of the more impressive things about Burbage is the 4.07-GPA he carries. This is even more impressive considering LCA’s curriculum is among the more challenging in the commonwealth at the secondary level.
Like so many of his LCA teammates, Burbage has a strong academic standing. Athletically, Burbage has demonstrated the versatility to play both multiple sports and contribute to the football team in multiple phases.
