Not many people realize how good of a football player one has to be to get offered by football teams at the top of any division of play. Let me assure you that St. Johns in Minnesota can flat out ball and could either beat or really push many of the FCS teams populating or surrounding our commonwealth. Never met an offensive lineman who much relished the obligation of having to block a player like Jake Jackson. Low center of gravity, incredible leg kick, power, explosion, off the charts strength, and Jack Jackson’s being ill-humored upon arriving to the football all make him a handful. Yessir, blocking Jake Jackson was such a pain in the rear no one elected to do it all season. Enjoy this feature on a guy who is definitely an All-State caliber defensive lineman. HB.
This guy is among Kentucky’s most athletically gifted and freakishly apportioned (in a good way) football stars from across Kentucky. He plays at one of the more storied and accomplished programs too. There were a plethora of candidates for this week’s award and many of them had just won championships. This award is going to a player who just missed out on winning a championship though not because of anything he either did or didn’t do. This guy performed brilliantly in multiple phases of the game and stood out for a team which came one possession away from perhaps pulling it out. Here’s a guy whose numbers were exceptional but whose performance may have been overshadowed by some other players around the commonwealth. Make no mistake, this kid was uncommonly good all season. Daniel Swinney and his Bulldogs from Male High School are playing this weekend for the coveted title of Kentucky 6A State Champion. It is a title the program has won numerous prior times. Having a RB as hard to contain as Swinney may just win the program another Trophy for the case and a set of rings for Swinney and his teammates. It won’t hurt the Bulldogs to have the reigning Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week in the offensive backfield when the game commences.
