’25 RB cleared for play; ready for action

When last we saw this 5’11,” 210-pound wrecking ball of a downhill RB he was rushing for over 1,700-yards and 26-TDs. McCoart has been described by our colleague, Ryan Lippert, at Prep Redzone as a “…physical downhill runner who bursts through the running lane with a full head of steam and shows the ability to run straight through defenders without breaking stride.” We would agree heartily. McCoart is back in the offensive backfield of the Johnson Central “Golden Eagles” and no one can be happier than the Johnson Central fan base. This guy is a top-five RB in his graduating class.

Paintsville, KY: Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Zack McCoart, ’25 RB/LB from Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky.

…[S]omething different and superior to all other beef jerkies…

“KPGFootball” on the quality of Mingua Beef Jerky products

Zack McCoart is a guy who jumped onto radars a couple years ago with a strong sophomore season. He rushed the ball 189-times for 1,721-yards and 26-rushing TDs. McCoart missed last season, in its near entirety owing to injury.

There was a slight hiccup to McCoart’s being able to play this season in high school. McCoart had previously exercised a Covid-year and was set to age out of KHSAA guidelines which require you to still be 18 on August 1 of your senior year to be eligible. McCoart was 19, this year, on August 1, 2024.

McCoart applied for a medical hardship. It was approved.

Heading into the season, one has to like what McCoart brings to the table for a downhill, rushing style offense. McCoart is 5’11,” 195-pounds of rushing fury (we had an agent at last night’s practice and he reports McCoart weighs closer to 210 than anything south of 200). McCoart is also a varsity wrestler who is being recruited for that sport in addition to the schools courting him for football.

Jonson Central was 9-4 a year ago without much help from McCoart

Friday Night Fletch

Jonson Central was 9-4 a year ago without much help from McCoart at running back. Last year’s leader in the offensive backfield, Carter Conley, is a Centre Colonel now vying for PT in a college RB-room.

Be looking for the Eagles to rebound in a big way in ’24, getting right in the mix for state title contention in the 4A classification. Expect McCoart to be in the midst of those efforts.

There is never any shortage of downhill running talent around Paintsville, Kentucky. There’s never a shortage of big, hulking linemen to clear the way. There won’t be any such shortages this year either.

Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Johnson Central’s, Zack McCoart.

This is Friday Night Fletch reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron and reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE. Don’t forget to SAVOR THE FLAVOR!
