Leclercq is that guy for his Southwestern High Warriors. Enjoy this look at a fast riser in the ’26 graduating class and a kid we’re examining for end of the year All-State recognition.

Somerset, KY: We once predicted that Devon Leclercq, from Southwestern High, would be a name you would know in ’23. He had just come off an impressively productive freshman campaign as a first team player for a 5A power.
When you’re right, you’re right. We couldn’t have been more right in Leclerqc’s case.
The guy with the funny surname who we predicted programs would be very interested in learning to spell is heavily involved with EKU and Yale right now with the Bulldogs from Yale appearing to be slightly advantaged over the in-commonwealth program.
Entering the upcoming season, the 6’1,” 280-pound powerhouse is still sporting some impressive numbers. Declercq’s most impressive number may be the 3.5-GPA he is carrying into this junior year.
Now Southwestern is opening this Saturday night on the campus of Campbellsville University. The Warriors will play 6A powerhouse, North Hardin, in a game which will be hard to predict. North Hardin regularly produces among the finest talent the commonwealth proffers.
September 6, 2024, the Warriors travel to Bowling Green to play always tough South Warren. Getting through the first two weeks will be challenging. Anything from a split to a 2-0, out of the gate, will mean 5A will gave to reckon with overcoming these fellows again this year before the title may be awarded ultimately.
Having linemen with whom to reckon goes a long way in high school football toward awarding championships at any classification of play. Leclercq is among the very best along the scrimmage line the 5A classification has to offer.
This is a kid worthy of monitoring going forward. That is our recommendation.
