When you get to Kentucky 5A, that is certainly denoted as “Big Boy Football” within the commonwealth. For instance, players playing two-ways or “iron man football” at the 5A level or higher gets increasingly rare but you will still see it and usually those pulling it off are really special talents. Here is our best guess concerning how this classification shakes out this coming season. Enjoy! HB.
As the ’22 class leaves us here at the magazine, we are in the midst of augmenting our database with kids formerly in middle school headed to the high school game. Well, Caden Veltkamp from South Warren is a Hilltopper (WKU) now. Who will take his place in the lineup running the Spartan offense as it defends its 5A title? Don’t be surprised if Coach Smith’s troop don’t turn to an incoming freshman. Don’t be surprised if his name happens to be Easton Jointer. Enjoy the feature. HB.
We are 22-3 over the last two weeks and 30-3 for the season. Here are fourteen games for Friday night and what we think the outcome will be. Some of these games are “toss-ups” and some will be blow-outs. There are a few in here which will be quite closer than odds-makers believe and we have seen this phenomenon all year. Enjoy the article. HB.
We are going throughout Kentucky and listing its top teams in each area. Here are ten teams vying or “King of the West.” Enjoy the article. HB.
This kid is still growing as he leaves to play college football for John Luttrell at Union College. Don’t be surprised if his “best football” isn’t actually played in college and don’t be surprised if he scores an NFL combine invite in a few years. Enjoy the article. HB.
We featured a teammate of his weeks ago and now we have circled around to feature him. Kobe Martin is one of 2022’s top-five or so RBs commonwealth-wide and recruiters tell me, college prospect wise, he may be every higher than that. He is getting it done at one of Kentucky’s premier football programs at any classification. It will be fun to see what he does this coming Fall. Congratulations to Kobe Martin, No. 23, for the South Warren Spartans from the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Come see us and discover why. HB.
There isn’t a better linebacker in the 2022 class than Luke Burton and being perfectly honest, we should have had him on our Sophomore All-State team for 2019. Why didn’t we? We missed. We have been telling you that it is impossible to get them all and every team has glaring omissions and this is one we missed. That’s okay Luke, we’re Associated Press voters and we have our eye on you now! Enjoy the article about this week’s Independence Bank Revolutionary Player brought to you by the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth.
This week’s Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week is South Warren’s Kobe Martin who just put the wraps on an incredible sophomore season playing at Kentucky’s second highest classification and at one of Kentucky’s premier football programs. Join us next week as we award this honor to another worthy and deserving recipient. HB.
Throughout the season we pick weekly winners. It was one of our more popular segments a year ago. This year we will decide which games we cover based on our “hits.” Read us, you get covered. Ignore us, we ignore you. These are some Friday night match-ups in areas where we get a lot of views. This week we thought we might enliven things by singling out some games for witty commentary. You have to be a member to read this level of content. That’s what keeps us in business.
Well, last week KPGFootball picked 17 football games and went 15-2. Not too shabby even if it is we saying so. We had enough fun doing that we decided we would go another round and, this time, we are picking 20 games. For some of these matchups we might make […]
