Larry Irvin from Ballard High redefining ‘PeeWee’ ball by becoming the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @minguabeefjerky, @KyHighFootball, @BHSBRUINS, @Ballard_Bruins

February 28, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Larry Irvin is called “PeeWee.” That isn’t a name which opponents of the Bruins call Irvin. His performance at times in ’24, as a junior, was down right major league. Irvin turned it on when the playoffs began and led his team past Male High in round two in overtime. Today we celebrate PeeWee Irvin as he earns the week’s coveted Kentucky Comfort Creator award from Big Ass Fans. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it comfortable out there!

Cade Scott from Brandenburg, KY (2026) is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week. @MeadeFB, @StrengthMCHS, @VisionQB, @QBHitList, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

February 26, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Cade Scott has everything big-time programs covet among QBs. He is tall (6’5″), well put together (200-pounds), with plenty of bounce (varsity basketball star) and a versatile skill set athletically and intellectually (4.14 GPA). Scott, like so many other Kentuckians, is a football/basketball combo guy who several D-1s are noticing, including the three (3) who have already offered. Enjoy this feature and remember to #SavorTheFlavor.

JaCaryous Perryman from @FC_FALCONS_FB is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @minguabeefjerky, @KyHighFootball

February 21, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

One doesn’t get much more versatile than Fort Campbell’s JaCaryous “JP” Perryman. Last season, as a junior (’26), Perryman rushed for 603-yards, housed seven (7)-TDs rushing, completed 62-passes for 912-yards and 13-TDs, caught four (4) passes for 62-yards and a TD, housed eight two-pointers, registered 20-tackles, forced two fumbles, recovered one, and picked a pair of passes for 5-IRNYs. Say all of that three times really fast. The guy is a fantastic athlete who competes in multiple sports for his high school which competed at a high level a year ago in winning half its games. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!

We have been hitting the history of the game we love better than any other this offseason pretty hard. Thing is, if we don’t do this then who will? We are telling you about players, coaches, and events which are such a rich part of the fabric of the KHSAA that they deserve to be told, they deserve preservation. This is another of those today. Today, we highlight a guy who is among the best QBs to ever grace the playing service on Morton’s Gap. Ladies and gentlemen…the great Mike Evans.

Ross Powers from Hancock County is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @WeAreHCFootball, @DylanMorris2025, @1027TheGame

February 19, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Ross Powers is a 5’7,” 190 pound football playing stud entering his senior year for the Hancock County Hornets. What did he do as a junior? Well he registered 162-tackles, 14-TFs, 3-sacks, 3-FFs, 3-FRs. That is quite a mouthful. Enjoy this look at the star MLB for Coach Bob Eubanks’ Hornet’s nest from Lewisport, Kentucky. Timmy Williams from Trigg County High ready to rebound from injury @TriggFootball, @CoachEzell45, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @KyHighFootball

February 18, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Timmy Williams, a ’28 athlete and quarterback, came out of the middle school ranks among the more ballyhooed prospects the western Kentucky MS ranks could muster. Williams was off to a fast start when he got derailed by injury in the second week. If this guy can stay healthy, he could have a really solid sophomore campaign. So could the Trigg County Wildcats who have stepped down to 2A and will now face Mighty Mayfield on a yearly basis.

Henry Morgan from Henry Clay showing tremendous promise for a program ready for improvement @HCHSDevilsFB, @coachhawkins1, @HCBluedevilsMBB, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @KyHighFootball

February 14, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Henry Morgan plays for a program which has seen better days. Henry Clay High won a 4A title in 1981 and played for a second one in 1995. That was when there weren’t but four (4)-classifications. The Blue Devils are ready to get this ship righted and have brought in a proven “program builder” in Phil Hawkins. With talent like Henry Morgan entering his junior season, it won’t be too hard for the Blue Devils to keep it comfortable out there around district 7. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!

Storm Warning: Isac Earl maybe the best athlete attending Hopkins County Central @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @ChiefSmoke10, @_CoachManning, @SylasGunn, @carlos_mason52, @HopkinsCentral

February 13, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

If you were to look at all the ways Isac Earl contributed to Central’s bottom line over his junior season, you may draw the conclusion we did. He led the team in passing, led the team in receiving, led the team in scoring, was among the leaders in rushing, tackles, TFLs, and FFs. That is a ton of leadership out of one position. The 5’8,” 165-pound dynamo may be the Storm’s best all-around athlete on the roster not named “Gunn.” Enjoy this feature about a young man who brings on the stormy weather for Central foes.

Pabst deserves his own blue ribbon for his sophomore season @Liamtoml, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @BeechwoodFB, @beechwood_tiger

February 12, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

One of our favorite songs used to proclaim loving “red necks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer.” The blue ribbon beer was a reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a famous brand of alcoholic beverage. We don’t know if the Pabst family who son is a stud ’27 football player in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky bears any type relation to the Pabst family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then again, we don’t know that they don’t. What we do know is Nathan Pabst is dad-burn good at football and he makes his team all the better when he contributes his considerable efforts. Enjoy this feature and remember to #SavorTheFlavor.

BJ Evans, 2026 RB, from Tates Creek (Lexington) is this week’s @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator @BJ_Evans5, @minguabeefjerky, @TC_CommodoresFB, @kyhighfootball

February 7, 2025 Fletcher Long 3

We selected BJ Evans to our Large School All-State Football Offense this past season as only a junior. Rushing for 1,799-yards on 194-carries, scoring 20-TDs and averaging 9.3-yards per carry against Lexington 6A competition will garner one some notice. What will Evans do for an encore? Challenge for the Mr. Football Award and a repeat appearance on our all-state team would be solid guesses. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!
