’26 OL whose secondary position is DE is ready to show he has what it takes
Khristian Scott transferred over from North (Madisonville North-Hopkins for readers outside the county) last season. Scott took a minute to gain eligibility so he only played in seven (7) games according to what was posted on the KHSAA website. However, Scott showed enough, in those seven (7) games, to excite recruiters and fans alike. This guy has the frame to be a next level, interior OL. This senior year for Scott will be huge. It will be a huge year for the “Storm Chasers” too.

Morton’s Gap, KY: The practice, in Ancient Roman society, was called Damnatio ad bestias. It began around the second century BC and was a form of execution and part of a wider class of “blood sports” called Bestiarii.
Between the first and third centuries AD, this penalty was applied most often to criminals, runaway slaves, and Christians. There is a more common, modern day vernacular applicable here.
The act of throwing a player to the lions is a football term of art for a young player’s having to enter the Friday Night starting lineup before he is ready. It is kind of like a young, married couple believing they are not yet ready for children. Having fathered and reared four (4) children myself; let me assure you, if you were to wait until you are ready to have children, you would never have any.
Ready for children doesn’t exist. A young player’s being ready for Friday Night doesn’t either.
You have to just kind of throw them out there and hope they can swim. Mother dogs do it to their puppies. Football coaches do it to young, athletically and physically advanced talent.
Nobody is really ready for “Friday Night,” you have to just throw young players out there…

Last season, Khristian Scott transferred over from North. For the people reading this outside of Hopkins County, Hopkins County Central is just “Central,” and Madisonville North-Hopkins is just “North.”
The trek from North to Central, or from Central to North, is a hard road. The road is paved with bad or hurt feelings and (often) nefarious intention.
Scott made the trek just last season. It took him “a hot minute” to gain eligibility. After becoming eligible, it didn’t take Scott long to prove his being a superior member of the offensive front.
Scott is now playing for an OL coach who has, also, traveled the same path. Having a position coach like Jordan Vaughn will help him tremendously.
Scott is 6’3,” and weighs 265-pounds. If the reported weight is accurate, he has slimmed some from his 280-pounds at which he played a season ago.
Scott plays with excellent leverage and has a good amount of “quicks” and agility. Scott’s athleticism is manifested by his secondary position being “DE.” Scott runs 40-yards in 5.5-seconds.

Defensive End is where defense’s generally slot some of the better athletes on a roster. Get outside the “DE” and there is often nothing but green grass or artificial turf between the ball carrier and “pay dirt.”

We believe Scott is an interior OL at the next level. He plays RT along The Storm Front, but his height and length dictate a move inside at the college level.
Scott benches 230-reportedly, and squats four plates (405). Scott pulls (deadlifts) 410 and carries a 3.0-GPA. Among those numbers, the GPA is probably the most impressive.
Scott isn’t strength or power-wise where he needs to be, but it is a long time between now and August. This is why the Lord invented offseason.
The Storm needs this young OL to not just personally come along but lead the remainder-men. One thing is for sure, should you figuratively throw this big cat to the lions, the lions may find it has a more vigorous battle than expected on its paws.
