’20 OL was among the better players at his position coming out of HS, Hudl/X-account
We covered the heck out of Jordan Vaughn when he was a HS player. Here is a link to such an occasion. He has defected to the Gap and will help the build-out at Hopkins County Central. Central is making a real push to be a “player” on the western Kentucky football scene and attracting a young coach of Jordan’s ilk is a definite sign the Storm is taking this football program very seriously. If you are a parent of a young kid coming up in this program, this is a very good day for you.

Morton’s Gap, KY: We don’t know if you have ever seen the movie “Step Brothers” with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. It was a great comedy which grossed over 128-million, box office, and has a sequel coming out this year.

There is a poignant scene where Ferrell’s character (Brennan Huff) gets a job working for his little brother at a helicopter leasing/renting outfit. The Catalina Wine Mixer, the most important helicopter leasing/renting event of the year, is upcoming and the younger brother has put Brennan in charge. It is all sort of set up in the hopes Brennan will choke on this opportunity, hoping the majesty of this event turns out to be too big for him.
When asked whether he is ready for so much responsibility, Brennan says, I’m ready. I’m walking tall…I’ve been earning and burning; snapping necks and cashing checks.
Jordan Vaughn may have found a similar cross roads in his budding coaching career. Is he ready for the responsibility?
KPGFootball believes Vaughn’s ready. Vaughn’s walking tall, earning and burning, snapping necks and cashing checks.
Well, this coming Fall there may be a few necks snapping when Madisonville North-Hopkins invades Morton’s Gap to play the Central Storm on September 1, 2025. Most of the necks snapping will be from Maroon fans wondering if that is their own former superstar, Jordan Vaughn, down on that Storm sideline coaching The Storm Front (attempted “re-brand”).
Vaughn has signed on to help the Storm earn and burn. Vaughn hopes his linemen (now christened, The Storm Front) will (figuratively, not literally) snap some necks, but more importantly, cash some checks.
I’m walking tall…I’ve been earning and burning; snapping necks and cashing checks…
Brennan Huff, “Step Brothers”
Vaughn comes to this football thing honestly. He was an all-state player in his day and helped lead one of Madisonville’s all-time offensive fronts.
Vaughn singed with Murray State out of high school. Vaughn has come home, after his playing career, looking to give something back to his beloved county. It looks as if Central will be his first varsity, high school stop.
Vaughn brings tremendous experience to the table, particularly OL playing experience. Vaughn was a multiple year starter, up front, for North-Hopkins which featured a 3,000 yard, single season rusher and Mr. Football finalist in Jeriah Hightower in its backfield.
How strange will it be seeing Vaughn wearing Central’s colors? How strange will it feel for Vaughn to root against the Maroons on September 1, 2025?
It will probably feel pretty foreign on both accounts. Sometimes you have to be ready. Sometimes you are called upon to earn and burn. Sometimes you have to snaps some necks to cash some checks.
Right, Brennan?
