Kayson Holland, from Marshall County, is our Mingua Beef Jerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @KaysonhollandFB, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @CountyMustangs, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball

Kayson Holland from Marshall County is our Protein-packed Performer of the Week. This kid was electric in only eight games of run over the ’24 season. Holland had 36-tackles, broke up seven (7) passes, scored a rushing TD, and only had a pair of passes completed over him all season. Pour in his 3.2 GPA and 24 registered ACT score and you have a very recruitable athlete who also clips off 40-yards in 4.5-seconds. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor out there in Benton, KY.

Gavyn Combs from Betsy Layne may spell his name funny, but his game-play is straight fire! @BLBobcatsFB, @GavynXLCombs33, @Mike_Stoops41, @UKCoachStoops, @vincemarrow, @khsaafootball, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

Gavyn Combs is a real ’27 prospect. He is 6’5,” 275-pounds and had 84-tackles, eight (8) TFLs, two (2) sacks, and a FF as a sophomore on a nine (9) win, 2A, District 8 ball club. We probably would have spelled his name with an “i” instead of a “y” if it had been up to us. We probably wouldn’t have spelled Betsy Layne with a “y” either and we darn sure wouldn’t spell Coach Jarredd Jarrell’s name with all those “r’s,” “d’s,” or “I’s.” Then again, as long as it works. Buddy, it is flat working! The Bobcats from Floyd County may make a deep run in ’25 and, if they do, that “stork” of a DL/DE will have some say in why they did. Enjoy the feature.

Who could win ‘Mr. Football’ in 2025? What about ‘Diamond Rio?’ @LitmerMario, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @CoachIzzy1, @CoachClay_CLT, @CoachStutzmann, @CoachHuff, @HighlandsFB, @BrodyCook0660

It is the offseason and Summer Drills are literally around the corner. This time of year, we are busy trying to forecast which teams will be in what races and which players may impact the season long, “Mr. Football” race. We love the country band “Diamond Rio” so much we couldn’t help but nickname Rio Litmer “Diamond Rio.” This guy may be slight of frame, but he has a ton of game. Litmer led Highlands to the 5A semis, which would gain you some leverage everywhere but where he is playing. The Bluebirds are hunting title number 24. Will it come this season? Will Litmer take home “Mr. Football?” We shall see! Enjoy the article.

Slow Motion Replay: Maybe all I know about Mike Yeagle, in the end, is he was a fine football coach @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @BeechwoodFB, @beechwood_tiger, @BeechwoodA

April 26, 2025 Fletcher Long 1

Mike Yeagle was as fine a football coach as the KHSAA has ever known. He coached football for 15-years, winning 183-games and losing a scant 27-times. Yeagle took over a Beechwood team which had one title prior to his being hired (1984) and turned the same Tiger squad into the KHSAA team of the 90s (7-titles in 10-years). At the end of the day, we have no idea how many titles nor games he might have won had he not retired when he did nor passed when he did. Sixty-two years old is mighty young to be passing on to your reward. Still, the Lord takes us when He is ready for us and when He thinks we have our best chance of redemption. In the end, Yeagle is missed and will never be fully replaced. Enjoy this feature.

Slow Motion Replay: The late Bob Schneider could orchestrate an attack and diagram a sentence with equal alacrity @TBredsFB, @NKyTribune, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @CountyMustangs, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @EddieEviston

We (perhaps) have never been any more excited nor anxious about this particular feature. You see, we are professional writers and are enamored with the overall craft of writing. Sure, Bob Schneider retired from coaching the KHSAA’s all-time wins leader, when he stepped aside in 2009. Sure, Bob Sneider was inducted into both the Norther KY HS Sports (1991) and the KHSAA (Dawhares) Halls of fame (2006). So why the anxiety? Well, because he taught English at Newport Central Catholic for 50-years. This would be a terrible time for splitting infinitives. Enjoy this look at one of the KHSAA’s all-timers and let’s pray my verb tenses remain consistent throughout each paragraph.

Garrison Barker, From Daviess County, is the Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @GarrisonB767, @DCHS_Football, @OwensboroSports, @1027TheGame, @bigassfans, @minguabeefjerky, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @DcmsWallace

Daviess County had a tough season a year ago. That is why Quadarius Wallace was brought in to right the ship. The first thing Coach Wallace will have to address is filling the post at QB, post-Remington Davis. It is a good thing rising senior, Garrison Barker got the run a year ago he did. We believe Barker will seamlessly slip into the QB-1 role. We also believe Daviess County will make definitive strides from last season to this one. Enjoy this feature about a kid whose performance made the unbearable heat a tad more bearable and who hopes his performance brings comfort to the home fans around Daviess County, KY this upcoming Fall. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you out in that regard.

Storm Warning: No one is feeding this Khristian to the lions, Scott is preparing for a huge senior season on Morton’s Gap @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning, @evans02_mike, @scott_khristian, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

In latin the practice was know as Damnatio ad bestias, losely translated “Condemnation to beats.” You would know it as throwing “Christians to the Lions” and it was a form of capital punishment where the condemned person was killed by wild animals, usually lions or other big cat. No one is practicing this today, but the vernacular of “Throwing (one) to the lions” has modern day usage usually akin to a young player being thrust into action earlier than a coach would like. Well, no one is throwing this particular “Khristian” anywhere. This guy plans on making a real impact his senior season on Morton’s Gap and then sliding somewhere for some college football. The way he is built, don’t bet against him.

I know we just featured this kid, but it isn’t uncommon for us to feature a kid and turn immediately around and send him some protein. Check the historical record. it has been before done. This kid’s achievements in the weight room alone, and the hard work he has put in during his off-seasons, is enough to warrant this type recognition. We are here to encourage and reward these exact type efforts. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor over there in Somerset, KY.

The epic poets, Hómēros, who you probably know as “Homer,” wrote some poems in the eighth century BC. These chronicled the struggles of mortal men when antagonizing, or being antagonized by, the Gods, of whom there were pantheon. We have a story for you today about a young man in Glasgow, Kentucky who may be built simmerly to Achilles, but who is just a mortal guy learning the football craft. Word on the street is, he is doing very, very well. Enjoy this feature and thank you for your continued support.

Cam Alsip is the type of high school player we LOVE to cover. He’s a hard worker, kills it in the weight room, all the while looking like a mild mannered, Academic team member. Yeah, Clark Kent didn’t look like much either, at least not in glasses. This kid is busting his tail to get better and it will translate onto the field. With 15-TFLs, 6.5 sacks, and five (5) FFs in ’24, how much better can this kid possibly get? I feel sorry for the kids trying to block this monster. Enjoy the feature.
