’26 Corner/RB, from Marshall County, demonstrating he’s quite the athlete and student
Kayson Holland has some skills. He may be slight of build (5’10,” 160-pounds) but he has plenty of speed and ball hawking skills which recommend him for next level play. Most see him as a corner, safety type and probably, owing to the 5’10” thing, a corner but he really had a special season for a Marshall County team which is making definite strides.

Mingua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Kayson Holland, ’26 corner/RB from Marshall County High in Benton, Kentucky.

Benton , KY: This award has become among the more coveted and cherished weekly awards in the KHSAA, especially among “football people.” Of course, the winner of this award gets shipped to them a hulking box filled with world famous, all-beef jerky, in the most popular flavors, with a sweet T-shirt; so, what’s not to like.
Kayson Holland is a 5’10,” corner/RB, three (3)-phase performer who is about to enter his senior season in a matter of months. Holland thrived, in 2024, on special teams, offense, and defense. You guys have followed us enough to know what we think about the three-phase performers.
We love them. Do you know who else loves them? Coaches, at the high school and college levels love them too.
Holland had a tremendously productive junior season. Playing in the defensive backfield, Holland registered 36-tackles, broke up seven (7) passes, and only allowed two TOTAL receptions over him on the season.
Holland played a little offense. Matter of fact, Holland score a rushing TD in ’24.
Holland got only eight (8)-games of run in ’24; imagine what he will do with a full accoutrement of action
Friday Night Fletch
Overall, Holland only got eight games run in ’24 playing for Coach Nick Bloodworth’s ever improving Marshals squad. While the team may have only won three-games in ’24, the 21-14 game it dropped in Benton, KY to the Red Devils from Owensboro Senior should tell you about all you need to know about the team’s overall trajectory.
Guys like Kayson Holland are important to keep this program moving in the right direction. Having DB’s running legitimate 4.5-second, 40-yard dashes, while maintaining a 3.2-GPA and posting 24’s on their ACTs is a way to keep the good times rolling.
Laissez les bons temps rouler, as they are fond of saying in New Orleans.
Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Marshall County High’s Kayson Holland.
This is Friday Night Fletch reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron and reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE. Don’t forget to SAVOR THE FLAVOR!
