Lasaters...time to wake up and smell the coffee!

’29 linebacker made the Big Ass Fans All-State Football Team (Large School Division) as a freshman

🎶Cowboy, baby!
With the top let back and the sunshine shinin'
Cowboy, baby!
West Coast chillin' with the Boone's wine
I wanna be a Cowboy, baby!
Ridin' at night 'cause I sleep all day!
Cowboy, baby!
I can smell a pig from a mile away...

Bryson Ford was an anomaly over the course of his freshman season. You don’t see a ton of freshmen getting “down hill” and making plays, defensively, in the offensive backfield. Young defenders generally lay back and let the ball carrier get to them. We see freshmen defenders with copious amounts of tackles but we see them playing more sideline to sideline than north and south. Ford was both a sideline to sideline and north/south guy for the Colonels last ever defense at Christian County in 2025. The new consolidated school will need to attract the “Cowboys” to its roster for its inaugural season if it is to have the success envisioned. YIPPEE-KI-YAY!

Hopkinsville, KY: Christian County’s roster, the “Colonels,” not the “Tigers,” was in chaos for much of 2025. In spite of this, the play of freshman linebacker, Bryson “Cowboy” Ford was a real bright spot.

Ford has been ranked by one national recruiting service which covers Kentucky, On3.com’s Prep Redzone, as the 4th best linebacker, Kentucky-wide, in the commonwealth’s ’29 graduating class. That same service ranked him the 43rd overall player in his class regardless of position.

Ford was also among the only freshmen to make the Big Ass Fans, 2025 Large School, All-State Football team. Here is a link to said team for your ease and enjoyment.

Ford has been invited to the prestigious “Best of the Midwest Combine.” Wait until you see the boost to his recruitment he will experience post this opportunity. Ford will be taking another ranked ’29 player, Kamryn Wells, to this event. Kentucky will be well represented.

Ford has an enviable frame with plenty of length, height, and room for “good weight.” Ford lists at 6’0,” 170 now. Judging from his long arms, neck, and legs there is still plenty of length left to come on his frame and plenty of room for another 30-or so solid pounds at any height.

Ford registered 74-tackles, with seven (7) TFLs, and a fumble recovery on the year. That is significant owing to his leading the defense in plays behind the line of scrimmage an aspect not usually seen in freshmen, second level guys.

Ford played some offense too, though he is more highly regarded (right now, anyway) on the defensive side of the scrimmage line. Ford doubled up at TE in 2025. Ford was mostly blocking for the Colonel’s run-game but has the speed, quicks, and length to factor into the second level, passing game too.

Identifying a potential weapon like Bryson Ford, may give the newly minted Tigers an advantage over its inaugural season and give them an edge over district rivals like Henderson County and McCracken County. That is why Bryson “Cowboy” Ford from Christian County High, is this week’s Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Feature of the Week.

We feel it is high time for people around Christian County, KY to take notice of this outstanding young linebacker, Bryson Ford, and some of the Tigers’ other outstanding performers. Hey Christian County Tigers, as far as Bryson Ford is concerned; it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee!

Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, get on down to one of our Christian County area locations and remember, our products are superior and one of a kind; just like Christian County High School’s, Bryson “Cowboy” Ford.
