One of our rarer gifts is being able to project future stars. We are quite good at this and have loads of examples from the past where we were literally the first publication to foresee a player’s rise to stardom. It would appear, if Twitter is any indication, the “King of the West” at the RB position, Mayfield’s Kylan Galbreath has reclassified and will be back in the Cardinals backfield for a full ’21 season. We are glad to hear it and hope this is accurate. Enjoy this look at a RB who puts the Cardinals squarely in the 2A-Title hunt in ’21, where they seem to be every year, even the “down” ones. HB.

This week’s Revolutionary Player is a prime example of the level of production some programs are getting from first-year players. By first-year players we are referencing freshmen and not players who have been seasoned on the JV field. It truly is remarkable what guys like this week’s recipient have been able to accomplish. Scott High’s motto is “Soaring Above the Rest.” Gus Howlett’s motto appears to be the same if we are gauging it from his on-field production in ’20. This kid here, if size were the determining factor, has no business playing where 6A Bryan Station has him deployed. Yet, here he is statistically among the most productive linebackers in the entire commonwealth. Kids with the talent to overcome their frames and put their teams in position to succeed should be celebrated. Congratulations to Amodeus Taylor from Lexington’s Bryan Station High School and join us again next week as we celebrate another one-of-a-kind performer. HB.

Many people around Kentucky believe it is J’Veontae Emerson’s time to shine. He reminds some of us around the magazine of North-Hopkins’ Jariah Hightower (Class of 2019) and that is quite the compliment in deed if you look at what Hightower did his final two seasons. Will Emerson do likewise? We ultimately don’t know but we believe he has similar skills and a similar frame. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Don’t hold us to this, but we believe this is the first c/o ’26 player we have featured and Happy Memorial Day by the way. Cam Thomas and his Team Kentucky Future Star teammates are going to play their Tennessee counterparts in June in Nashville, Tennessee. We hope you will get to Nashville and watch what is incredibly sound and well played football by the best players either state has available. It is football at that grade level like you have never seen it played. You will be amazed. Enjoy the feature. HB.

There are many, many unknown football players across Kentucky. It is one reason we spend the offseason apprising our readers of where to look for the upcoming Fall heroes. Northern Kentucky is an area we are trying to give more attention as we feel these kids are player about whom we don’t know enough. We hope the Northern Kentucky folks (at least) appreciate our effort. Enjoy this feature about a Northern Kentucky kid who is a fine high-school player with limitless college potential. HB.

We have been focusing on the young Kentucky players who braved the challenges presented this past weekend at the prestigious Appalachia Prep Combine in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Young Jerrick Williams, from Owensboro High School was among their number.
