Trever Hardesty will never come off the field

🎶Daddy, won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County?
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay
Well, I'm sorry, my son, but you're too late in askin'
Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away...🎶
The Late, John Prine, 1971

There are some who believe Trever Hardesty is the best returning player in ’25 from off the ’24 roster. The “some” who think this contain people close to the program who should know this type information. Hardesty was one of the “two Trevers” from a year ago and the “other Trevor,” surname of “Joiner,” has exhausted his eligibility. That will leave some huge shoes to fill. The remaining “Trever,” surname of “Hardesty” believes himself up to the challenge. We agree with him.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.

The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.

Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product. Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator…and, these days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

Greeneville, KY: The [late and] great John Prine wrote an all-time song about Greeneville, Kentucky. Prine described Greeneville as 🎶…a backwards old town that’s often remembered/So many times that [his] memories [were] worn…🎶

That song was written in 1971. Prine passed in 2020 at the age of 73. His ballad still plays in my head, I am unable to extricate it; and I really don’t wish it gone.

Paradise may lay down by the Green River. That isn’t all found lying about down by the Green River. These days, there are a few football players the Kentucky fan should likewise notice. It appears 🎶Mister Peabody’s coal train…🎶 didn’t haul everything away.

Trever Hardesty may be the Mustangs’ best returning player when the season opens in August of 2025. We have heard him described as the “…best returning FB.” We have heard him described as “…the leading LB returning.”

Trever Hardesty will NOT come off the field in ’25

Matt Day, DC, Muhlenberg County

We hear Coach Josh Staples, and his ultra-experienced, exceptionally accomplished, defensive coordinator, Matt Day, plan on building the Mustangs’ defense around Hardesty. Matt Day told KPGFootball, “He [Trever Hardesty] won’t come off the field.”

Hardesty exhibited quite a bit of utility in ’24 as a junior. Hardesty gained 235-yards rushing, scored on a critical two-point conversion on special teams, and registered 59-tackles, eight (8) TFLs, and four (4) QB-sacks. In addition, Hardesty both forced and recovered a fumble. We call that being “all over the field.” We call that utility and exceptional value, especially out of one slot.

Hardesty was described to us by Josh Staples as, “…a really hard-nosed kid.” With the kind of young talent the Mustang program is developing, fans would be justified in anxiously awaiting the coming season and prizing the squad’s anticipated, future play.

Pretty soon there may be more to do around the abandoned old prison down by Airdrie Hill than empty pistols at snakes and empty pop bottles. Won’t that be nice, Mr. Prine?
