Mathews, Jones, and Jarvis just three reasons why the prospects are bright at Muhlenberg County
At “KPGFootball,” we pride ourselves in knowing things before you know things. If that weren’t true, why in the world would you need to read us? We have amassed an incredible network of agents, across Kentucky, who report to us, often on the daily, keeping us abreast of things before anyone else gets wise. We called the “Matt Varney to Belfry” as head coach thing at least a month before it was reported and way before anyone else, just as an example. We have another news flash for the football world and we know we are the first to break this. There is tremendous young talent amassing at Muhlenberg County and the Mustangs will be a program with which to reckon going forward. Remember where you heard this first!

Greenville, KY: Okay guys, this morning seemed like as good a time as any to let the cat out of the proverbial bag. Kentucky Prep Gridiron is getting in the horse business, Mustangs to be exact, the Muhlenberg County variety.

There is an enormous amount of middle school talent headed for the varsity roster in Greenville, Kentucky to go along with some returning talent and outstanding coaching. We have talked about some of the returning talent, in prior features about Klay Wilken, the dual threat QB and multi-sport star and athlete, and Trever Hardesty, a do it all skill set who will contribute in multiple phases this coming Fall.
We have talked about the coaching staff and its being well rooted and demonstrating aptitude over the long period of time we have covered this sport. The ingredients are there.
Gains are being made in the weight room, where high school stars are built. Ethan Mathews (175), Ethan Jones (185), and Corbin Jarvis (195) are powerlifting Kentucky champions at their respective weight classes in the middle school division. These kids are plenty thick for rising 9th-graders, with really long frames (look for yourself in the above pictures), and the strength and power to get in the rotational mix immediately.
We care about our kids’ futures and opportunities and are prepared to help them reach their goals, both on and off the field
Josh Staples, HFC, Muhlenberg County
In the world of “buyers and sellers” we are buying this particular program. We interviewed head coach, Josh Staples, for this piece.
“We are pleased to be partnering up with the top coverage of middle and high school football in the Kentucky-wide industry,” Staples told us. “This step by our program constitutes an investment in the football fortunes of Muhlenberg County and its talent. We care about our kids’ futures and opportunities and are prepared to help them reach their goals, both on and off the field.”
Bravo, Muhlenberg! We’re excited too!
