’26 corner is physical and smart and has the tools to play the position next level
JoaQuinn Drake is the example of a kid who is a great looking prospect at a position of need who toils on a roster experiencing a down turn but very athletically capable to get the ship righted in ’25. Butler Traditional has fielded some tough teams over the years and we believe Gary Wheeler is the right guy to get it turned around and sailing smoothly. It may take some time. It will require some patience. In the meantime, the team has developed a third level guy who looks to be poised to have a tremendous year for his Bears as a senior. Where he goes from there is anyone’s guess. That 3.6 GPA equips him for many different and exciting journeys ahead.

Mingua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, JoaQuinn Drake, ’26 corner from Butler Traditional High in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville, KY: Butler Traditional is in a pretty tough district in the 5A classification. With Atherton going 11-2 and 10-3 in successive seasons and Fairdale being historically a tough opponent to yearly face, that district doesn’t look to be slacking any.
Gary Wheeler is trying to right a ship which has been historically a tough opponent. The Bears were 2-9 in ’24 but there were some bright spots providing hope for the coming season.
One of those “bright spots” was ’26 corner, JoaQuinn Drake. Drake is a 6’0,” 183-pound, physical corner with a 3.6-GPA. Never a bad attribute for a guy we ask to “play out on an island” to be smart.
As a junior, Drake registered 32-tackles, two TFLs, and broke up 15-passes. Get this, in 178-coverage snaps, Drake didn’t allow a single TD. Not a single one!
