Centre Football escapes Indiana 1-0, beats Hanover 31-29. Maryville College calls, ‘Next!’ @CentreFootball @HanoverFTBL @MCScotsFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

Centre escaped Hanover, Indiana with a win. That was about as positive as we can be about a performance which gives us plenty of mistakes to study and correct. Coaches say teams experience the most growth between the first and second games, particularly in college football. Colonel fans must “pray” that rings true or we may not be as lucky outcome wise as we were with the Panthers in Indiana. Enjoy the scout. HB.

Coach Jay has slipped undetected into the Derby City once moore (pun intended) and picked off another prospect who figures to be in the mix from day one once he hits campus. Travon Moore is a Blue-Grey All-American and someone who will greatly benefit from these new surroundings and running behind a line of scrimmage like the one Hanover boasts. Here’s the thing, he could be a LBer too. Enjoy the article. HB Lyon.

Local college programs mined the rich vein of in-State talent in filling out recruiting classes. Some killed it out of state too. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @1776Bank

We saw numerous programs clean up yesterday on national signing day. We saw some Kentucky programs lure some incredible out of state hauls, and we even saw some programs from neighboring states dip their fishing lures into Kentucky waters and come away with some big time talent. Enjoy the article.

There just hasn’t been a better corner in Kentucky high school football over the previous three seasons in the ’21 class than Trinity’s Chris Forehand, Jr. Now he will take his talents north to Hanover College where you would have to expect him to challenge for starter reps immediately. Think is…he may not be alone…(we love this time of year around here). HB

We have been featuring the players who are jumping on in-state schools early as opposed to “waiting and seeing” whether there is room in the Inn for them at the D-1 level. Lots of tremendous opportunities and football below the D-1 level. This article features two kids who came to this realization and who happen to be two kids we have before covered many times. Enjoy the article. HB.

There are some schools around Kentucky absolutely feasting on in-state football talent in filling out the programs’ football rosters. We couldn’t be happier about it. Some real ‘prime-timers’ are finding considerable value in pursuing options other than waiting around and hoping there is room left for them at the heel of some bigger school’s football program during these uncertain, unchartered times. Because of this, some D-1 skill sets are finding their way into the student bodies of some prestigious academic institutions and on the rosters of some prestigious football programs. In-state college football play will absolutely benefit. Many area schools are already nationally ranked at their levels of play. These kids stand the chance to really benefit too. Enjoy this article. Coach Lyon’s Class 6A preseason top-10 football poll…

July 29, 2019 Fletcher Long 2

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, the day we were called seemed like as good a day as any to continue that tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A, then 2A, then 3A, then 4A, and yesterday we projected Class 5A. Today we give you our projections for the largest Kentucky classification, Kentucky Class 6A. We have now completed this series and hope this has peaked your interest in something we love around here with all our hearts…Kentucky High School football. Have a great season, everyone of you. We can’t wait to both watch and report on it.
