Chase Flaherty and his Beechwood Tigers know football often a game of inches. @JameeFlaherty @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @HLPreps @kyhighs @KyHighFootball @mitchberger2123 @thewoodpepclub1 @BeechwoodTigers @PBRKentucky @ATYBerger

What a job Chase Flaherty did filling in at RB for the newly crowned 2A Kentucky Champions, Beechwood, after it lost its “Mr. Football” candidate Mitchell Berger. Almost makes you think the Tigers are elite across the offensive front, which is the case by the way. Still, the championship game came down to Mayfield’s extra-point attempt sailing wide of a college goal post which would have been good had the kicker been kicking toward a high school goal post. Football is a game of inches. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Round Two…District Championship! One of these underdogs will win… @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @1776Bank

We used to run this as a weekly series. It never did well enough getting views for the editorial board to recommend its continuation. Still, I just couldn’t help myself this week. I had to do it. Here are four games where the underdogs seem virtually sure of covering what Calpreps has determined to be the spread. Enjoy the analysis. HB.

Halfway in…how are the ‘hold-backs’ doing? @Minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @1776Bank

It looks like Ky Galbreath is bucking to add his name to that of “Cameron Hergott” on the list of former 21’s, reclassified as 22’s, who have made the reclassification work for (as opposed to against) them. Many others haven’t faired nearly so well. We won’t know for a couple years for sure, but questions are already being asked. Was reclassifying good for players or not? This article may not answer the question but it does take a look at it. HB.

@KnoxStory from @MHSCardinalsFB looking to #Riseup in ’21. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @1776Bank @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @mhscoachjoe

We believe Knox Story from Mayfield will offer the Cardinals some steady and consistent play along the offensive front in ’21. We also believe his ending up a NASA scientist isn’t out of the question either. This is a kid we think will play quality snaps this coming year as we look for Mayfield to #Riseup! Enjoy the feature. All-State OL, Barrett Henley, Class of 2019

January 23, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

One hates to play favorites, but, truthfully, there are players in a sports writer’s coverage sphere he just likes better than others. KPGFootball are HUGE Barrett Henley fans. That is why we nominated him for the Associated Press, All-State Football team. That is why we voted him, first team, on […]

Class of 2022’s Connor Carr, CAL

May 22, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

  Well, first it was Braeden and Brandt Babin, and now it is Connor Carr. If you are an upcoming opponent of CAL and hoping to gain ground on the Class 2A, powerhouse which won the State Championship in 2016 and bowed out in the State Semis, last year, to […]
