Is this team or that the best ever in Kentucky in its classification is heady and speculative talk. That aside, after the first four or so weeks of the season we have to wonder if LCA may not be the best 2A football team in Kentucky history? We believe the question is legitimate and fair. Here is our argumentative proof. HB.
This kid has garnered an early offer from the most prestigious liberal arts college in the commonwealth which also has a fantastic football program. There isn’t a hotter college recruiting Kentucky and surrounding states right now than the Colonels from Centre College. Vaught is just another reminder of this fact. This kid is a top-tier, high-school performer and one of the elite players in Lexington, Kentucky. This article should explain it well enough.
With all of the talent already there, guys like Tyler Morris, Xavier Brown, Anthony Johns, and Mason Moore, plus the guys reclassifying like Drew Nieves and Mattie Lebryk, it is hard to imagine the Eagles having any need in the lineup. However, they are attracting it anyway. RB Jeremiah Riffle from WV has moved in and will compete for a spot in the offensive backfield behind some of the best OL talent the Kentucky high school game has at its disposal. Man oh man, are they going to be a difficult obstacle in ’21. Enjoy the feature. HB.
Some of these “Break-out Players” are players many in the Kentucky Press Corp should have already been featuring. This guy here would have to rank among ’22’s top returning players. He has everything you would look for were you recruiting to a Division I program at the LB position. He plays RB too, but we see him in the defensive second level as a collegian. Mason Moore is a player whose full potential is only just now starting to come to the fore. He is a 6-0, 180-pound safety man for Lexington Christian Academy and part of the best collection of 2022’s on any one football team, regardless of classification playing high school football in the commonwealth of Kentucky.
