Sometimes we forget that not every kid comes in and slides straight into the Friday night lineup as a freshman. This is especially true at the 5A level of football in Kentucky. However, by year’s end we saw more and more of JT Adams patrolling the Colonel defense’s second level. Get ready, you will certainly see way more of that this year out of a kid we have consistently ranked among the top 2-3, 2023 LBs. Enjoy the article. HB.

Gough to start against Henderson County

October 29, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Gough is used to doing things well before anyone thinks he can. He started at one of Kentucky’s premier high-school programs as a freshman, he set the school’s single-season tackle mark as a sophomore, he made the AP All-State Football First-Team as a sophomore. The list just never seems to end. When he broke his leg the projections were he would be through for the year. Well, in keeping with Gough tradition, he was cleared to return to action in game 9. This makes him available for the playoffs, rested and full speed. Owensboro, at 8-1, was winning even without its marquee superstar. Imagine what they will do in the playoff run with him. Boggles the mind, doesn’t it?

The Product is Glorious!

Colleague of mine called me just yesterday and asked if I had heard about the game between Jordan Miles (Trigg) and Joshuah Keith (Todd) I asked him, “Are you serious? What kind of an outfit do you think we’re running over here?”

Hey, when two of the best football players in Kentucky’s 2024 class lock-horns, KPGFootball is going to be there. The result of the confrontation was gloriously played football played between two very fine football teams.

Is Todd County Central’s Joshuah Keith the No. 1 QB in KY’s 2024 class? We think so, and here’s why…

August 9, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

We make no bones about it, Joshuah Keith is the best QB in the class of 2024 anywhere in Kentucky in our opinion. He may be 2024’s very best football player too. A lot of what makes him different is his poise and football IQ. Than there is an 8th grader who runs in the high 4.6’s, low 4.7’s, in the 40 and shuttles in a blistering 4.0-flat. Of course his throwing a HS ball 59-yards this summer in Knoxville at the Gunslinger Challenge didn’t hurt his reputation either. If you really want to know why he is different than any other top-flight, 8th grade QB, then read this article.

Anthony “Nino” White has a plan for Atherton’s rise to prominence

July 1, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

KPGFootball was able to catch up and interview our friend, Anthony White, about his plans for the Atherton football program. This upcoming football season will be his first at the Rebel helm. Of course, we know White by his nickname “Nino” like virtually all of the Louisville area and the Team Kentucky fraternity. We also know him to be a winner. There are bright days ahead for this program. Enjoy this article.

Jeremiah “J2” Monroe, Class of 2023’s top DB, Proving, once again, what we know at KPGFootball, if the kids name is “Monroe” he can flat-out ball!

June 23, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

First we appreciate our friend, Brendon Miller with the Bluegrass Sports Nation for providing some of the photographs we have been using in our features of the Kentucky Future Stars players. Secondly we would like to tell you any person who claims to be an aficionado of Kentucky middle or high school football and are unfamiliar with the surname “Monroe” may well be selling you a bill of goods. The Monroes can flat out ball, son. Enjoy this article about Jeremiah “J2” Monroe and you would be wise to read it today, while it is free. Tomorrow, you know what happens.

Get them on the run, men, and go, go, go!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in [Kentucky] now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us [today against Tennessee]. William Shakespeare, Henry V, Act IV.

2024’s Cole Hodge…we’re pretty sure Tennessee won’t be happy to see he’s back…

May 23, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Tennessee will have to do something this year we don’t believe they have ever before had to accomplish in series history. The 7th-grade Team Tennessee Future Stars will again face the same QB who came back and beat them in the game a year ago when that guy was in the 6th grade. Can Cole Hodge win Offensive MVP in the 7th grade game two years in a row? We don’t know, but it sure will be fun to see the question answered. Enjoy today’s article regarding North Oldham’s Cole Hodge. It will be pay-walled tomorrow.

Matt Alex Ladd (Class of 2023), Team Kentucky’s Man in the Middle…

May 9, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

Michael Jackson once wrote that he was going to start with the “Man in the Mirror.” When selecting a line of scrimmage, KPGFootball starts with the “Man in the Middle.” That “Man” for us is Matt Alex Ladd from Trigg County who is back to provide a cornerstone for this year’s version of Team Kentucky Future Stars (8th).
