We are 22-3 over the last two weeks and 30-3 for the season. Here are fourteen games for Friday night and what we think the outcome will be. Talk about your protein-packed performers, this 6-1, 215-pound MLB for Owensboro (Senior) High School (5A) had one of those nights where he was called upon to contribute on multiple sides of the scrimmage line. He came away with a big-time performance and productive regardless of what he was called upon to do. In a tight contest like last Friday with Owensboro Catholic, where every score was important, his contributions were instrumental to victory. We think AG (as we call him around the magazine) is the definitive player at his defensive position in Kentucky high school football. Can’t flatter a guy much more than that! We take voting in the AP poll very seriously. We are proud to be a subscribed member of the foremost press agency in the land and feel our votes should be cast thoughtfully and only after having done the work. We saw this kid at the Bret Cooper game a couple of years ago. The East Coaching staff couldn’t stop talking about him. How good is this kid? Well, he played in 8-games as a freshman at 5A Owensboro Senior! That should tell you something. HB.
At 6-0, 230-pounds, this cat makes plays all over the field. Austin Gough (Owensboro Senior) and he are the consummate 2nd-level players in Kentucky. Both of them are FBS-level performers and even FBS frames at where they project. So, why is Thompson being slept on, or Gough for that matter? Well, we don’t know but it won’t happen for ever. These two guys have been the best of friends, brothers really, since first meeting playing FBU football for Team Kentucky Elite in 7th grade. Since that time, the two of them have been the standard at their respective positions in Kentucky middle and high school football. Yesterday, the two of them garnered prestigious football offers on the same day. They were the first two features we pinned when first coming online on March 30, 2017. Over three years later, there is still so much to be said about them. HB.
There is no a surprise here. Austin Gough, the 2021 LBer who has been at the top of KPGFootball’s board at his position, Kentucky-wide, since we first watched him in 7th grade play for Team Kentucky, has snagged a D-I offer from Southeast Missouri. This is the first of many. Enjoy the article. HB.
