Everyone took pride in being from Earlington [KY]...it was a badge of honor...
Mayor Albert Jackson
Albert Jackson is among the most decorated athletes to have ever grown up in Hopkins County. That might account for his induction into the HCYP (Hopkins County) Hall of Fame in 2023. In 2019, the graduate from the University of Georgia and former Bulldog varsity basketball player, began a new chapter in his life as a teacher at Hopkins County Central. Jackson obtained his Master’s from Murray State and has been elected the Mayor of Earlington, Kentucky; where he principally was reared. Jackson has been a valuable member of the Storm’s football coaching staff and has set a fine example, both for the football team and the players with whom he interacted or coached, of exactly how attributes like commitment, grit, hard work, and determination develop and flourish.

The Hon. Albert Jackson, Mayor of Earlington
If you ask him, The Honorable Albert Jackson, Mayor of Earlington, still has a very strong devotion to his hometown. Matter of fact, Jackson is right resolute in his devotion to Earlington.

“Growing up in Earlington is unmatched,” Jackson said. “Everyone took pride in being from Earlington, from the older generations to the younger ones. It was a badge of honor that those who grew up in Earlington wore proudly. Earlington was always safe, clean, and peaceful; which is why, as a child, it was so easy to thrive while still enjoying being a kid.”
Albert Jackson is just one reason to be proud and excited about the football program in Morton’s Gap. He is filling up kids, at Central, with good things…good characteristics; the attributes of champions, like him!

I have met Mr Jackson only once, at an Earlington Homecoming event. I have followed him through his athletic career and been as proud as any Auntie could be, however. He is a wonderful example of what the right attitude, hard work, and basic human decency, can achieve. I’m old enough to (probably, LOL) be his grandmother. I agree completely with his pride in growing up in tiny Earlington. It was the best.
