’27 Athlete among the commonwealth’s very best in multiple sports

We love and prize versatility foremost among athletic traits at “KPGFootball.” We have found our friends at Big Ass Fans feel the very same way. You really can’t get a more varied nor valuable skill set than what ’27’s Ryder Sandidge brings to the playing field, be it gridiron or diamond. Sandidge, in football in 2025, rushed for 347-yards and six (6)-TDs, caught 26-balls for 378 and three (3) TDs, finished third (3rd) in scoring (66-points) including housing both a KO and an INT, while registering 74-tackles, 1-TFL, 1-FR, and 3-picks with the aforementioned “pick-six.” In baseball so far this season, through the first eleven or so games, Sandidge is hitting .385 (10-hits, 26-ABs), with a pair of doubles and 13 SB in only 14-attempts. This guy is one of western KY’s best baseball players and among its more versatile and skilled football stars. In fact, this guy should be challenging for “Mr. Football” this Fall. That is our take anyway.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.

The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.

Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product.

Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator. These days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

This week our feature is about Ryder Sandidge. Sandidge is a baseball and football star at Madisonville’s North Hopkins High School. Sandidge is a three-phase, football performer who appears likely to find himself in the middle of the “Mr. Football” race as the Fall of 2026 fast approaches.

Madisonville, KY: We like Jacks of all Trades around both Kentucky Prep Gridiron and Big Ass Fans. While Ryder Sandidge certainly would be a Cracker-Jack at several different varsity sports, he seems to have gained a certain mastery over both football and baseball.

This guy is so good in football, he may find himself in the “Mr. Football” race come the Fall. Guys like Sandidge are so valuable and important to a team’s bottom line.

Sandidge is a three-phase contributor on one of 5A’s better western Kentucky rosters. That is easier said than done.

In ’25, Sandidge rushed for 347-yards and six (6)-TDs, caught 26-balls for 378 and three (3) TDs, finished third (3rd) in scoring (66-points) including housing both a KO (Special Teams) and an INT. On defense, Sandidge registered 74-tackles, 1-TFL, 1-FR, and 3-picks with the aforementioned “pick-six.”

So far this year, Sandidge is hitting .385 (10-hits, 26-ABs), with a pair of doubles and 13 SB in only 14-attempts. At the time of writing this article, Madisonville had played 11-games. Still, that is a fair sampling of the season sufficient to get an idea about his diamond-prowess.

Ryder Sandige, “inch for inch” and “pound for pound,” among the best athletes in KHSAA athletics

Sandidge is listed around 5’9,” and weighs about 170-pounds. That is deceiving somewhat as his length and vertical explosion makes him play significantly taller than he lists.

One of the best numbers for Sandidge has to be the 3.7-GPA he has (thus far) posted. Numbers like that will insure he gets plenty of next level looks.

For right now, Sandidge is focused on doing whatever he is called upon to improve his program’s playoff fortunes. Last season’s 8-3, with a first round exit, ain’t gonna cut it around a program which has enjoyed the success to which the Maroons have become historically accustomed, particularly with Price at the helm.

North has plenty of athletic talent roaming its hallways. Still, not a ton of Sandidge’s in any hallway, at any level of competition throughout the Bluegrass.

In Sandidge, the Maroons have a very versatile piece of football equipment. We know the kid can contribute mightily in all three (3) phases.

You know we love that.
