The season is literally a week or so from commencement. It is going to be an exciting season like it generally is. There are tons of questions abound as the beginning to 2026 looms. One of those is how profound of a performance may we expect from one of Western Kentucky’s brightest and more versatile stars? Ryder Sandidge has a different gear. If you have ever seen him play, you know what we are describing. Just when you think you have pulled even with Ryder, and are about to overtake him, he hits “that gear” and you are left grasping for a ghost, trying to corral that which is no longer there. We have seen him hit that separation speed in many games, in many “Sevens” throws. Now it is time to access it during his “Swan Song” of a senior season. We call these the Seven-Eleven. We have identified seven small school players and 11-large school studs all of whom will move the needle considerably this coming Fall. These are the guys who, if they are ’27s, will be in the “Mr. Football” race, and if they are younger will be serious threats for post season accolades. These teams are the teams who will make deep playoff runs, if not win championships, next season too. Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you the Big Ass Fans, Large School, All-State Football Team

We will start out this all-state team with an admonition with which we begin every team we have ever published. We will miss on some guys. It is just important to note that your son not making our team doesn’t mean he wasn’t an all-state caliber player. Also, we expressly reserve the right to re-enter the team, even after it is published, and add worthy players who may have been missed or accidentally omitted. That being said, our small and large school All-State football teams, sponsored by Big Ass Fans, are the most expansive and complete teams in the business. This team here, and the coaches’s team published by the “Courier Journal,” are the only two legitimate teams in existence and we believe our team to be much more complete and legitimate than even theirs. Congratulations to the players who made the team and congratulations to the wonderful world of Kentucky high school football for providing us with the endless thrills and discussions we net from our following this, the greatest game on earth.

Colin Daniels and his Mustangs have a monster match-up this eventing at the Teal Field in Goshen, KY. Head Football Coach, Brock Roberts, will take on the hot as heck-fire, Atherton Rebels, and its enigmatic, young coach, Anthony White. The two teams are both 8-1 with 5A Atherton enjoying the larger of the two enrollments. The one promises to e epic and the commonwealth’s “Touchdown Leader,” Colin Daniels will figure prominently in the eventual outcome. Madisonville North Hopkins rebounded from consecutive losses to puff Warren Central’s magic Dragons, 52-12, this past Thursday evening. The Maroons had nearly 400 yards of total offense and Mr. Football candidate, Markezz Hightower, chipped in 173-yards of his own. Ryder Sandidge contributed 93-rushing yards and a pair of TDs. We had a ton of Thursday Night action, so much that I published some “Thursday Night Picks” which I rarely do. I turned in a 12-1 on the night, perhaps I should change my name to “Thursday Night Fletch.” Just kidding. Madisonville ran its record to 7-0 for the first time since 1983 and Fort Campbell got its game with Trigg County rescheduled which was the right thing for Trigg to do as we can’t hold the kids at Fort Campbell accountable for a governmental shutdown.
