Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef and never chopped or formed like other brands, make our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein Packed Performer of the Week, Kalen “Jaws” Washington, from Frankfort, Kentucky’s Elkhorn Middle School, wouldn’t it?
What a day Kalen “Jaws” Washington had for Elkhorn against Union in the Division I, semi-final. Elkhorn advanced to the State Championship game where they will have to play a Bowling Green team which narrowly bested North Pulaski on the other side of the bracket, 20-14.
Saturday, neither Washington nor his Elkhorn teammates, “barely” did anything. Washington carried the football 17-times for 457-yards with 7 TDs and 3 PATs on the day. That is 26.8-yards per carry and hitting pay-dirt over 41% of the time you are handed the football. Get this, the 5’9″ 188-pounder is also a standout at inside linebacker for the defense and is second on the Elks’ squad in tackles.
We were able to talk with Coach Dennis Ledford about Washington, a player with whom he is well familiar even though Ledford is the high school head coach. You see, Washington is set to join the “Flyers,” next year, when he gets to 9th grade.
Ledford told KPGFootball, “Kalen is humble and encouraging to his teammates. He leads by example and out-works everyone on the team. His skill set as a runner is balanced with power and the violence to finish tough runs.”
Ledford went on to tell us, “He has excellent vision and cuts well with the speed to separate once he gets to the back-end of the defensive secondary.” Washington’s Elkhorn team beat Union in one of the two, KYMSFA, Division-I semi-finals, 60-26.
Congratulations to Kalen Washington, Class of 2025, from Elkhorn Middle School in Frankfort, Kentucky for being selected the Mingua Beef Jerky Company’s Protein-packed Performer of the Week. Join us next week as the Mingua Beef Jerky Company recognizes another one of a kind performer and performance similar in grandeur to the one we recognized today.
Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from all the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind, just like Kalen Washington.
This is HB Lyon reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron reminding you that WE’RE JUST CALLING IT LIKE WE SEE IT!
