Heading into Day Two, are there 7th graders pulling to the front of the Kentucky backfields?

We have heard overnight from one of our well-placed assets and they had some interesting stuff to relate. First of all, it was remarked that Day One was a remarkable day and the install went really well. Both QBs, Cole Hodge and Joshuah Keith, were hailed for leadership and play. One likes to see that from the QB position.

Secondly, Don’Tre Richardson and Zharon Washburn stood out to the coaching staff as having had really good days according to what we are hearing. It is believed they may well have moved to the top of the rotation at the RB position.

The 7:30 practice which was initially reported “cancelled, for weather” was held after all. The teams waited out the rain and practiced afterward which made for a long night. Players were arriving back at the dormitory around 10:00 p.m. last evening.

The defensive backfield has been described as “very talented.” You may think that to be of minimal importance. After all, they’re 7th graders. How much do they throw the football? Remember, this is Future Stars’ football, not “Joe-Slappy Middle School.”

These are the best 7th grade football players in the entire state of Tennessee they will face. They will throw it and throw it plenty. So being solid on the back-end of the defense will be key.

One of Kentucky’s very best athletes, Madisonville’s Jordan Miles, whom we have featured coming into this week previously, is turning in the type performance one would expect from an athlete of his caliber. We are also hearing a Logan Verax is studding out on the backend and has pulled to the front of the heap in the defensive 3rd level.

We can’t find “Logan Verax” on our roster. Our asset insists he had the name right. So he was either a “late-add” to the roster or our roster was published incomplete. We literally don’t know which of those it is but will attempt to get some clarification on it.

We will continue to follow this and other story lines on this Day Two of Team Kentucky camp.
