Report from Team Kentucky Camp…Is the “Hazard Hell-Cat,” Hunter Griffe, taking over the 7th grade lines of scrimmage

We have had a check-in with one of our very well placed assets. The 7th grade went shells this morning, helmets and shoulder pads, but there was a lot of hitting involved in spite of not being in full gear.

The team got in some individual work and skill development and was able to scrimmage some, 11 on 11, so things are definitely taking shape. Our “guy” had some interesting things to relate.

Hazard, Kentucky’s Hunter Griffe has been getting work on both sides of the line of scrimmage. On offense, he has been slotted along the offensive front. On defense, he has been “hard-charging” off the end.

We are going to use a term which is often provided us by these assets in describing some of what they have seen. This is another kid who has been described to us as being a beast. He is really coming into his own from what we are hearing and is virtually “unblockable” during the 11 on 11 sessions.

We never see kids playing both ways in the Future Stars game. There are just too many elite level players for that. With that being said, however, it isn’t inconceivable Griffie may get snaps on both sides of the ball.

Our “asset” tells us he looks like the OL’s most outstanding blocker when slotted along the offensive front. Griffie also appears to be the DL’s most devastating pass-rusher, and front-line run-stuffer, when repping along the defensive front. We aren’t sure exactly where the “Hazard Hell-Cat” will end up; but were one to guess on the first-string then our sources indicate to KPGFooball that would be close to a sure-thing.
