We enjoy bringing you scouting reports on just whom The Storm is playing each Friday night. This week is a winnable game on the road over a Trigg County team which, much like The Storm, is a much better than its record would suggest. We believe The Storm will emerge victorious, but the game still has to be played. See you guys in Cadiz.

Tucker Warren is a transfer from 5A North Laurel. He is killing it at “The Rock” and Rockcastle High is, in turn, killing it this season. Last Friday night, the team travelled to Middlesboro, Kentucky and took down a giant in the 3A classification in Bell County. Enjoy this feature and join us again next week when we recognize another outstanding athlete. Till then, pop some of Kentucky’s finest jerky products in your mouth and savor the flavor! #SavorTheFlavor! FL

Jarrren Johnson has been lighting it up for the Union County Braves. The Junior dual-threat QB has proven more dangerous with his feet than his arm but his team is 7-0 and will be favored in its remaining three games so just keep doing what you’ve been doing playa! Enjoy the feature. FL.

Make no mistake about it, Central High’s (Louisville) Cortez is a Stone-cold Killa on the football field- @8gocrazzyy @CHSJacketFB @1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @minguabeefjerky @HopkinsCentral @evans02_mike @840WHAS @sfitz_840whas

We have written about Cortez Stone for years. We also were among the very first to recognize him as ’25’s top running back, commonwealth-wide. His junior season hasn’t been changing anyone’s mind around our offices. Enjoy the feature. FL.

We usually dedicate these articles to branches. Today, we dedicate this article to the President of the McLean
County branch of Independence Bank. We talk about our people, products, and services being superior and they are. We thought today we would focus on a person. Congratulations Derek Miller and enjoy the feature and celebrate with us the Revolutionary service, people, and financial products which have caused a revolution in Kentucky’s banking industry. FL.

I coached a player at Hoptown Middle School who went on to be a star in HS and signed with Campbellsville. Jevon Leavell was that guy and a coach I had on staff looked at me, one time, and said, “Coach Long, I am going to give you some advice today which stands to really help us…find ways to get the ball in Mr. Leavell’s hands.” Leavell went on to break Hoptown’s 100-meter dash record in track. Artose Pinner and Curtis Pulley both ran track for the Tigers. Leavell and Wheels Turner have lots in common. Enjoy the feature. FL.

The Brothers Hughes hope to be The Brothers Grimm to 2A, District 6- @KammHughess_ @krishughes2026 @1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @minguabeefjerky @HopkinsCentral @evans02_mike @840WHAS @sfitz_840whas

They were called The Brothers Grimm (die Brüder Grimm or die Gebrüder Grimm) and they were German academics and cultural researchers of whom you have undoubtedly heard. Well, Somerset has The Brothers Hughes and they will be heard from before the title to District 6 in 2A gets ultimately decided. Enjoy the feature. FL.

Storm Report: Central drops tough one to Webster in Dixon, KY…must come home and ready for McLean-@1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @minguabeefjerky @HopkinsCentral @evans02_mike @840WHAS @sfitz_840whas

Central went on the road needing a win to get into the number two slot when seeding commences. Central left Dixon, KY just hoping to have a seat when this “musical chairs” experience of a ’23 football season stops its music. Central came up short but still has plenty for which to play. Enjoy the feature. FL.

Zane Johnson, ’27 QB for Trinity High (Louisville), showed out on KY’s biggest stage. @ZaneJohnson_3 @1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps @minguabeefjerky @HopkinsCentral @evans02_mike @840WHAS @sfitz_840whas

The Johnson kid (Zane) has defied all conventional wisdom generally espoused about playing as a freshman at Louisville’s Trinity High. Not only is he playing, but his play has resulted in Trinity winning. Before you call and tell me your son should be the Freshman All-State QB there are some performances out there you might want to see prior to your getting too far out on that limb. Enjoy the feature.
