JoaQuinn Drake from Butler Traditional is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @JoaQuinn15Drake, @_ButlerFootball, @bigassfans,

March 19, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

JoaQuinn Drake from Butler Traditional is our Mingua Beef Jerky Protein-packed Performer. He had 32-tackles, broke up 15-passing attempts, had a pair of tackles for loss, and didn’t allow a single TD in 178 pass coverage snaps. That is quite remarkable on a team which finished 2-9 and toward the bottom of the Kentucky RPI for 5A programs. Sometimes it is the guys who perform in spite of the performances around them who really astonish us. This guy here is a player colleges in the area should really study. You know, good corners are hard to find. Enjoy this feature and don’t forget to pick up some world famous jerky products from Mingua Beef Jerky and “SavorTheFlavor.”

March 18, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

We are pleased to announce we are getting in the “Mustang business” this season, the Muhlenberg County variety. This is a program which is developing talent at an impressive clip and has a core group of young talent coming up from middle school ready to compete for “Friday Night PT” as 9th graders. Some of them have the frame, power, strength, and explosion to “plug in” and they will certainly have the guidance. Brighter days are dead ahead Greenville. We will be very pleased to bring it to you right here on our forum.

This guy is rated as high as the number one RB in Kentucky’s ’26 class. Jay’Quan Crawford benches 230, squats 495, and power cleans 270 making him a real load to have to get to the ground. Crawford has four D-1 offers presently (EKU, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, and Toledo) with UK circling just outside the camp fire waiting to see what materializes over the course or his combine season before the senior year commences. Enjoy this feature on a superstar player and young man who has a superstar GPA to boot.

Storm Chasers: The baseball diamond is a great place to find football talent @evans02_mike, @Meloishim3, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @ChiefSmoke10, @_CoachManning, @SylasGunn, @carlos_mason52, @HopkinsCentral

There have been plenty of football stars who also played baseball. We think, on the advent of the opening of baseball around Kentucky, Coach Manning would do well to scour the diamond looking for talent which might serve the football team well this coming season. This has been before tried and successfully. Enjoy the article.

Arion Roach, from Waggener High, is the Protein-packed Performer of the Week @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @WHS_Wildcats_FB, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball

March 12, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

’27 QB,SS had an all-state performance in spite of his team’s struggles in ’24 Arion Roach had an uncharacteristic performance in ’24 for a team which finished the year 0-10. The 6’1,” 195 pound sophomore with the 4.65-second, 40-yard speed, 475-pound squat, and quarter-ton deadlift, found a way to markedly […]

March 7, 2025 Fletcher Long 1

Greeneville, Kentucky has been described by one of our generation’s finest folk artists and song writers (John Prine) as “paradise.” We don’t know about that, but don’t dispute it, but we do know the Mustangs have some enviable, young talent to mix in with some big-time returners for the ’25 Fall season. One of those returners is Trever Hardesty who, we have been assured, will NOT come off the field next season. Today we celebrate Trever Hardesty as he earns the week’s coveted Kentucky Comfort Creator Award from Big Ass Fans. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it comfortable out there Kentucky!

We have been highlighting versatility and utility pretty hard for over a year now. These are prized attributes, ask any football coach. We are telling you about players, coaches, and events which are such a rich part of the fabric of the KHSAA that these stories deserve to be told, these fanciful yarns deserve preservation. This is another of those today. Today, we are highlighting a guy who really played well as a sophomore finding the lineup for eight (8) of the team’s 11-games. What will he do as a junior? Quite a bit we wager.

Kris Hughes from Somerset High is the @minguabeefjerky Protein-packed Performer of the Week @krishughes2026, @BJNFBALL, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

March 5, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Kris Hughes is a “Dude.” If you are unfamiliar with that term and its meaning, you need to read our book. There is a link at the bottom of his article. Hughes scored 29-TDs in multiple phases of the game in ’24 as a junior. He picked a pair of passes, housing one for a “pick-six.” He is also the 5th leading rusher and scorer in Somerset history and we are talking about one of the more accomplished histories in the KHSAA. What will he do for an encore? He just may win ’25’s Mr. Football, that’s what. Enjoy the world’s very finest in meat jerky products and enjoy reading about this week’s Protein-packed Performer. #SavorTheFlavor

Slow Motion Replay: Sam Harp, from Danville High, representing all which is best about coaching

March 1, 2025 Fletcher Long 4

It is one thing to be the unofficial mayor of “Title Town.” It is quite the other to be a main reason why the town is so christened. Sam Harp is among the greatest to ever grace a sideline. Harp won 75% of his games in Danville, retired 326-106, won seven titles, and posted an unbelievable 82-21 post-season, playoff record. Along the way, he co-Authored a book with me about which no one, associated with football at the KHSAA level, can seem to stop reading. Enjoy this look at the great Sam Harp.

Larry Irvin from Ballard High redefining ‘PeeWee’ ball by becoming the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @minguabeefjerky, @KyHighFootball, @BHSBRUINS, @Ballard_Bruins

February 28, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Larry Irvin is called “PeeWee.” That isn’t a name which opponents of the Bruins call Irvin. His performance at times in ’24, as a junior, was down right major league. Irvin turned it on when the playoffs began and led his team past Male High in round two in overtime. Today we celebrate PeeWee Irvin as he earns the week’s coveted Kentucky Comfort Creator award from Big Ass Fans. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it comfortable out there!
