Today we wish to recognize and true fixture in the world of KHSAA football. This guy has 27-years experience at the helm of programs at Trigg County, Hopkinsville, and Madisonville North-Hopkins and infinitely more experience as an assistant coach throughout the commonwealth. Also noteworthy is his being the greatest of all time in the world of Kentucky high school powerlifting, which is one heck of a fun cover, by the way. Greeneville, Kentucky has been described by one of our generation’s finest folk artists and song writers (John Prine) as “paradise.” We don’t know about that, but don’t dispute it, but we do know the Mustangs have some enviable, young talent to mix in with some big-time returners for the ’25 Fall season. One of those returners is Trever Hardesty who, we have been assured, will NOT come off the field next season. It is one thing to be the unofficial mayor of “Title Town.” It is quite the other to be a main reason why the town is so christened. Sam Harp is among the greatest to ever grace a sideline. Harp won 75% of his games in Danville, retired 326-106, won seven titles, and posted an unbelievable 82-21 post-season, playoff record. Along the way, he co-Authored a book with me about which no one, associated with football at the KHSAA level, can seem to stop reading. Enjoy this look at the great Sam Harp.

Larry Irvin is called “PeeWee.” That isn’t a name which opponents of the Bruins call Irvin. His performance at times in ’24, as a junior, was down right major league. Irvin turned it on when the playoffs began and led his team past Male High in round two in overtime. Today we celebrate PeeWee Irvin as he earns the week’s coveted Kentucky Comfort Creator award from Big Ass Fans. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it comfortable out there!

One doesn’t get much more versatile than Fort Campbell’s JaCaryous “JP” Perryman. Last season, as a junior (’26), Perryman rushed for 603-yards, housed seven (7)-TDs rushing, completed 62-passes for 912-yards and 13-TDs, caught four (4) passes for 62-yards and a TD, housed eight two-pointers, registered 20-tackles, forced two fumbles, recovered one, and picked a pair of passes for 5-IRNYs. Say all of that three times really fast. The guy is a fantastic athlete who competes in multiple sports for his high school which competed at a high level a year ago in winning half its games. Henry Morgan plays for a program which has seen better days. Henry Clay High won a 4A title in 1981 and played for a second one in 1995. That was when there weren’t but four (4)-classifications. The Blue Devils are ready to get this ship righted and have brought in a proven “program builder” in Phil Hawkins. With talent like Henry Morgan entering his junior season, it won’t be too hard for the Blue Devils to keep it comfortable out there around district 7. We selected BJ Evans to our Large School All-State Football Offense this past season as only a junior. Rushing for 1,799-yards on 194-carries, scoring 20-TDs and averaging 9.3-yards per carry against Lexington 6A competition will garner one some notice. What will Evans do for an encore? Challenge for the Mr. Football Award and a repeat appearance on our all-state team would be solid guesses. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!

Jaylen Bradley just finished his sophomore season playing for one of the more prestigious programs in Kentucky. Bradley caught 12-balls for 273-yards and three (3) TDs on offense and registered 16-tackles, two (2) INTs in his 11-games of run. Jackson Arnett is the new sheriff in a town which has won 690-all time football games. What is our prediction for both Bradley and his “Scotties?” Success…
