’28 WR/DB has all the measurements & showing some of the ‘tools’
We love Lexington Christian Academy’s (LCA), Brady Couch. What is not to love? He is 6’2,” weighs 180-pounds, got seven (7) games of varsity run last season for one of 2A’s premier programs and ‘showed out’ when given the opportunity. If you want a guy likely to ‘break out’ this coming fall, this may just be the guy.

Lexington, KY: Freshmen don’t generally get a ton of varsity playing time (PT). Now it is true that if a freshman is to find the field on Friday nights that freshman, generally, has a better opportunity at a 2A school than a 6A school; but there are numerous exceptions even to that rule of thumb.

Besides that, programs like Lexington Christian-Academy (LCA), Mayfield, Beechwood, Owensboro Catholic, those aren’t really 2A programs. Those programs are all long-time Kentucky high school champions, or contenders, at the very least.
Last season alone, LCA beat the 3A KHSAA champion, Christian Academy-Louisville (CAL); beat 3A contender, Lexington Catholic; played Boyle County in the opener (4A team coming off a championship four-peat); and played Franklin County (4A finalist), to whom the Eagles lost by six (6)-measly points. LCA doesn’t schedule like a 2A ball club.
Some programs transcend their classification. LCA is one of those.
Brady Couch transcended his being a freshman. Couch, in his seven (7) games of action averaged eight (8)-yards a carry, caught four (4)-passes for 63-yards, registered three (3)-tackles on defense, and tied for the club lead with three (3)-INTs.
We call that making it count when given opportunity. Couch certainly did that.

Everybody all over Kentucky has gone gah-gah for Thomas Sizemore, and with good reason. Sizemore has made the FBU, Freshman All-American squad and had a tremendous year for the Eagles.
Sizemore, also a ’28, registered 67-tackles, 5.5-TFLs, a-QB sack, a FR, and three (3) INTs to tie with Couch atop the leaderboard in the “passes picked” category. Of course, Sizemore got twice as much run (14-games) as Couch.
This isn’t a knock on Sizemore. We’re big fans. We just think it would be unfair to omit that very relevant fact.
Should be fun to see what these two do when both are playing every down this next season, as is apparently the plan. Talk about your no-fly zones.
